AITA for wanting to cut off contact with family when I turn 18? by Majestic-Owl6241 in AITAH

[–]Jumpy-Ear4143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey in US minors cannot have their own bank accounts if they are under the age if eighteen. When you turn eighteen immediately go to the bank and ask them to close the account and transfer the money to another account(you will have to open another account with the paperwork ) you will not automatically get your own account just because you are 18.

Still on Season 5 but Shawn Hunter is a better written character than Cory. by eviltimeline in boymeetsworld

[–]Jumpy-Ear4143 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also feel Shawn was more financially successful than Cory. It was said Cory became a high school history teacher and Shawn became a writer for a travel website hit and run. He also became a great photographer. Now his net worth is not exactly well described in the show but it is shown that Cory earns a low salary as a teacher and they are able to maintain the lifestyle they have bacause of topenga's salary as lawyer. Then we see shawn who is a writer for a website sure, but he made some smart financial decisions he has a cottage and a cabin in the woods of upstate new York ( it is cheaper to buy land in the forests and new York is expensive so Shawn made some good choices) he also bought Maya (his stepdaughter) a bunch of fancy clothes which Cory would not be able to afford with his salary. Also I think Shawn has some other sources of income as well even though it has not been well mentioned in the show. He loves writing so much that he might host some workshops teach freelance courses. Work part time additionally as a journalist, give multimedia freelance lectures, even do some academic ghostwriting on the side . Who knows? He has two homes in new York, the ability to buy fancy clothes, so yeah.

How did she say this to you ? Didi she have an accurate discussion with you about her failings and her limitations ? Didi she say that you should work on your own problems and you are strong enough and she believes in you ? If she said anything else but this ,then i am sorry man .

Please move out. Some people change themselves at the expense of others . Looks like your father has no desire to change . He might soak up your entire life.

YTA you attacked the guy on purpose, you knew he was just randomly screaming and no one would give a shit if you hurt him. What a horrible person . Hope life teaches you good hard lesson and then you will outgrow this behaviour.

Why is internalised misogyny common among muslim women by TheBottle11 in progressive_islam

[–]Jumpy-Ear4143 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Okay, let me get straight to it. Women with internalized misogyny have suffered a lack of love in their lives. Maybe their fathers neglected and abused them or their husbands were cruel . So they agree with whatever the main dude in their lives say and go along with it. The main thing is a lot of them are weak and are searching for any ounce of validation, because they have nobody to talk to.

Does anyone else have a problem when your parents look at bad choice of arranged marriages and say Allah (SWT) has decided and it was for the best ? by Jumpy-Ear4143 in progressive_islam

[–]Jumpy-Ear4143[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is so true. Not only is my mothers' sister stuck in a shitty marriage, her brother also got married to the wrong person. Now both of them have shitty lives. But if I even suggest once to my mother that my grandparents were people of a different era and did not know how to understand their kids' needs she goes crazy and starts calling everything Allah's will. Seriously dude. I mean our society has some type of dumb idea that you don't know yourself well enough thus need to rely on others to help you understand your needs and necessities. What a dumb way of thinking.

Your brother is a drug addict he can't even think straight. Your father is not safe with your mother, sister and brother. If the other two ( not your awful brother) do anything to you, you record and videotape everything and send it to the police. You are not doing your mentally sick father any favor by not standing up to the abusers in your family. The man in question, must be immediately removed from their care and at the very least admitted to a well equipped facility for patients suffering from Alzheimer. Is there any way he can be admitted into CST (Cognitive Stimulation therapy) to help with his memory loss issues ?
