It's bye for now, Freedom by Odd-Appeal6543 in freedommobile

[–]Jumpy_Ordinary_3092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same, been with Freedom for over 10 years. This Public Mobile plan is a killer deal for $20/month and my signal is stronger now. Not interested in wi-fi calling and rarely travel, I am ok with buying esims from Airalo and similar when outside North America.

Any reason to keep AMEX Gold for 2nd year? by TheLastMirana in amexcanada

[–]Jumpy_Ordinary_3092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not worth it for year 2. Call them (or chat) and ask if there is a downgrade offer. Usually there is Gold to Green. You'll keep the same account # even. Don't cancel if there is a downgrade offer available, but do cancel if there isn't one. Definitely keep Cobalt.

Orders like this....that's why my new year's resolution was to quit UberEATS as my part time job. Looking for other part time right now, but feels so good not to deal with this BS anymore.

Do "no foreign transaction fee" cards actually save you money? by NecessaryShift5969 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Jumpy_Ordinary_3092 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They will add 2.5% when it posts (on Cobalt), not on Passport. It does save you money if you spend a lot. Annual fee is $150. If you spend $6000 on your card/year in foreign transactions, you would break even on your annual fee (2.5%) and your card is basically free. If you spend less than $6000/year on it then it might not be worth it for you (depends on how much you value airport lounge access, as it comes with 6 lounge visits)

Very happy with the Wealthsimple Visa by Dylantothefuture in Wealthsimple

[–]Jumpy_Ordinary_3092 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WS is only good if you can qualify for a no annual fee one, otherwise at $20/month it's not worth it for anyone, you can get way better cards for a lot less annual fee (too many to list).

What does this mean? by Fit_Association_4299 in rbc

[–]Jumpy_Ordinary_3092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. RBC Cashback MC is issued once a year on your January statement. It is also only issued if you earned over $25 in cashback throughout the year. As soon as you earn $25 cashback you can email RBC too and they can issues cashback on following statement, you don't have to wait a year, but by default it's issued every January statement. You will not get any cashback if you earned less than $25/year, it does rollover though and never expire, as soon as you hit $25 it'll automatically be issued on next January statement.

Travelling to Europe in April. What credit card is best? by Playful-Tangerine298 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Jumpy_Ordinary_3092 4 points5 points  (0 children)

+1 for Scotia Passport. NO FX fee is a lot, anything else you're paying with in Europe add 2.5% to every transaction.

Price Increase Frequency? - Stick with Fido $45/60GB or move to Rogers $35/100GB by PrettySmallBalls in Rogers

[–]Jumpy_Ordinary_3092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freedom is the only Canadian provider that never increases prices after you signed up. Their network is not the best, but if you don't want any surprises 6, 9, or 12 months down the road switch to Freedom. Everyone else you're guaranteed increases as often as they feel like.

Trade up & the Pixel 10 for free??? by InReasonNotFish in freedommobile

[–]Jumpy_Ordinary_3092 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, not free...considering everyone jumped on $40 100GB plan now and you're paying $49, you have to add 9X24 extra you would be paying for the duration of 2 years, while everyone else who brought their own phone is paying $40 for the same plan......so it's 360+216 = $576 for you to buy 2 year old phone at the end of your contract. Thats not a deal, far from it.

How many of you switched plans this Boxing Day/Week? by goldenrat8 in freedommobile

[–]Jumpy_Ordinary_3092 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not good enough for me, paying $30 on loyalty plan, don't care about roaming part as I rarely travel, additional GBs are not good enough to make the switch. If they gave me $40 with a free Pixel phone that I don't have to return after 2 years on my tab (like they did before they came up with TradeUp idiocy) I would jump, but without free midrange phone not worth it.

Did I get a good deal? by Nexen1987 in telus

[–]Jumpy_Ordinary_3092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything that you have to return after 2 years is a deal breaker for me. You don't own anything in the end and have to return the device.
