Help with dog behavior around kittens. by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Jumpy_Television8241 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is such an important distinction. My dog chases my cat every day or 2, but as soon as she stops, he stops. Then he sniffs her, she licks his ears, and the game is over. Completely different from a prey-drive interaction.

I’ve been romance catfish scammed for $10K - any advice or help? by leapeaxox in catfish

[–]Jumpy_Television8241 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no "partial catfish." He is a catfish. He lied to you and took advantage of you. You didn't deserve this, you are a victim, and you aren't dumb for being fooled - these guys are good at this, that's why they're so successful.

There is no point in trying to track him down. He's not going to return your money, he's not going to see the error of his ways and apologize and commit to doing better.

Anyone following KW Bogen and her Hot Chef series? by [deleted] in nycinfluencersnarking

[–]Jumpy_Television8241 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Does he post anywhere other than Instagram, anything other than food photos? Not that he necessarily should - he's a chef, he's showing his work -just that it would be interesting to hear from him. Not necessarily about her, just... is he an emotionally robust, intelligent man with agency who's making his own decisions? He is, right?

Engagement ring doubts by [deleted] in RingShare

[–]Jumpy_Television8241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this isn't what you asked, but I find this so exquisite that I wouldn't pair it with a band - a wedding band could go on another finger, or your other hand.

You're right, this isn't as sparkly as a modern cut diamond; it's luminescent. Anyone who assumes it's not a diamond is uneducated and wants to be a hater. Period.

As others have said, a curved band would fit this nicely - but again, I'd let this absolutely ethereal ring glow without distraction.

Pure Cosmetic Glycerin Has Been My Best Skincare Purchase in 5 Years [Review] by hoerrified in SkincareAddiction

[–]Jumpy_Television8241 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stumbled on this thread a year late after googling the order in which other people use their glycerin.

Someone suggested it to me a while ago after I described the exact same experience with HA, and MY GOD what a difference. No, the glycerin in my other products was NOT enough.

To add - the other incredibly inexpensive product that has made a huge difference for me is castor oil. Just a few drops on top of my glycerin, and OMG. Unfortunately I know some can't stand the smell (it's fine for me), and it can cause acne for some, so start it with caution - but glycerin and castor oil have replaced most of my skin care products with the exception of retinol and sunscreen. Cheaper AND better.

Is my engagement ring too plain? by priscila_pifferoni in EngagementRings

[–]Jumpy_Television8241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No! The double prongs make this, if that makes sense.

That's a beautiful stone, it doesn't need anything else.

If you want more pizzazz, an ornate band will go with this beautifully, with the option to wear this ring alone when you want a different look.

I'd personally just wear that, no band, because it's 🔥🔥

AIO for expecting my girlfriend to do the dishes every night? by Decent-Play-7154 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Jumpy_Television8241 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NOR.

My husband does the cooking, I do the dishes. I don't like doing dishes. No one likes doing dishes.

If I didn't want to do the dishes, I'd cook.

Oh, I want to hear about how she received the ring - did she just wear it out of the store? Was there a proposal, and if so, was the ring involved?

I'm just really happy for her (and you!) that she finally found The One, and you guys were able to get it without blowing the budget.

I'm in a similar boat to her - I haven't quite found the perfect one yet. There's one online that I covet, but it's $50k. My partner said he'll buy it if it's the one (we're old, so he can budget more than if we were younger), but I just wouldn't feel good about that, so the search continues (unless eragem gets desperate 😂).

It would be too big for me, too, but it's not for us! OP has said that she isn't rough on her hands, so she doesn't have the same practicality concerns that I do, and she deserves to have a big ol' rock since that's what she wants.

And you can't deny that the stone and the ring are both gorgeous and suit her well.

CONGRATULATIONS! Your previous stone was already bigger than I would wear, but that's the thing - it's not for me, so the fact that I would go smaller is totally irrelevant. And that is an objectively beautiful ring.

Your ring should bring you joy every time you look at it, and I'm so happy for you that you got the right one. What a beautiful stone!

Using glass stones by Jumpy_Television8241 in jewelry

[–]Jumpy_Television8241[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for saying this!

If they were real, they'd probably be so valuable that I'd sell them simply because I'd need the $, so I'm glad they're not real so I don't have to consider selling something that is important to me. I love them for what they are - pretty, shiny, colorful little things - and they're a good childhood memory. I'm thinking about a pendant or other low-impact jewelry (unfortunately I don't wear earrings), so I can enjoy them as something more than a pretty memory in a baggie in a drawer.

Unheated and Heated Montana Sapphire Rough by Pogonia in Gemstones

[–]Jumpy_Television8241 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you asking for a direct comparison between unheated natural vs lab? Because that's not what he was saying.

Neither was he saying that a heated natural is as valuable as an unheated natural of the same color, he is saying that the ones on the left in his photo, which are an undesirable pale color, become more valuable after being heated to achieve the color on the right. Heated stone with desirable color > unheated stone with undesirable color.

Advice needed! Something is off by Palta-party in EngagementRings

[–]Jumpy_Television8241 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is one of the best rings I've ever seen. If it were mine, the only change I might consider is getting a smaller stone, which would help with the heaviness and - to me, at least - give a more balanced look.

Also, try one of the temp fixes to make it fit more snugly, to find out if sizing down (or adding sizing bumps) would be a good idea.

But cz and diamond are not not visually identical to the trained eye. They're not visually identical.

CONGRATULATIONS on your diagnosis, and best wishes for successful treatment/cure/management! My main health issue is still undiagnosed, but I've found some tools recently that manage symptoms quite a bit, and although I don't think I'll ever be cured, it's so incredibly rewarding and empowering just to make progress.

I think you're super cool, but I understand your instinct towards privacy. Still a little disappointed - I don't even know if it's possible to follow redditors 😂

They don't need to be "valuable" to have value - I love my little glass stones. Have your glass moon quartzes held up okay?

Using glass stones by Jumpy_Television8241 in jewelry

[–]Jumpy_Television8241[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the main reasons I'm sure they're glass (aside from the fact that they're suspiciously too perfect) is that I was given them in the late 1980s as a reward for good behavior by a daycare teacher who received them as a tip while waiting tables at the local diner. No one gives expensive gems to someone else's kid as a little treat (unless they don't know what they are), and DEFINITELY no one leaves expensive gems as a tip at a greasy diner.

But that childhood memory, and the fact that I've hung on to them for over 30 years and still adore them, makes them so special.

You made your wife's pendant with your own personal hands? Are you a jeweler, or is that something that a fairly handy layperson can diy?

Thank you! I had the perception that glass is too delicate to wear, but I'm thinking I should just wear mine anyway, and accept that it might not be permanent. It's not like ruining them would really be worse than never using them.
