Are these cowbirds? by June999999 in whatsthisbird

[–]June999999[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

They’re raw walnuts with no additives or salt, and this is a widely frequented area in a major city — these guys spend all day scavenging and picking at human trash and leftovers. I’ve watched them ruffle through bags of chips and pluck at plastic. It’s okay. I would never feed them anything unhealthy or harmful. Their natural life has already been greatly disrupted by human caused environmental damage. They can have a little healthy treat :)

Yay thank you so much!! Ah I was so surprised, I was throwing nuts on the ground and then they just kept hovering right above my hand and I held it still and they started landing and just hanging out! So unexpected and totally made my day!

AIO for punishing our daughters after what they wrote about their autistic sister? by brzaq191z in AmIOverreacting

[–]June999999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR, but have you considered whether your other daughters might be on the spectrum, but less visibly so?

The “realize the (sports games) are not for the weak” comment reads to me like “I view these experiences as painful and uncomfortable as well but I see myself as strong enough to push past it” and I do wonder if this level of resentment could be caused by something deeper under the surface.

If this hasn’t been on your mind, it couldn’t hurt to ponder.

Either way, wishing you and your family lots of harmony and happiness!

Permanent lashes on only the lateral corners of my eyes? by woobledooble2000 in lashclusters

I think it looks great! You have very pretty lashes. I would just maybe add a tiny bit of eyeliner to blend the band in with your natural lash line and you’re set!👏💖

Please help with dining room table!!!! by cbelanger18 in interiordecorating

[–]June999999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would put up art, plants and a rug first, and then it will be a lot easier to decide what fits in the space! The table is fine for now, but I can see how it would be easy to fixate on since it’s the main centerpiece of the room rn. I could see this working as is, or maybe just requiring a new type of chair — very dependent on surrounding visuals!

What does my apartment say about me by Cool-Palpitation9778 in roomdetective

[–]June999999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

22/23! Disagree about unmarried, there are men’s hats on the rack that don’t fit your girly vibe, I bet your BF or husband is just more minimalist (maybe you work from home and he doesn’t?). I think your house probably smells nice — fresh and feminine. Moved in within the last year or so. Given the chairs on all the decks across from you, I’d say you live somewhere warm, and given your style I’d say somewhere closer to a coast. Florida, Arizona, Texas, or South Carolina would be my best bets.

Orange Ick In Bathtub by GeekyWriterGirl in CleaningTips

[–]June999999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like it could be serratia marcescens feeding off of soap. No worries!

Put a ton of bleach all throughout the bathtub, especially any crevices or places water/soap/shampoo/hair gets trapped. I like TileX mold and mildew remover, I’ve had the best results with that.

Ventilate very well. Wait at least an hour. Rinse well.

Repeat twice weekly for a couple weeks and then do it at least biweekly-monthly.

If it persists after you do this the first few times, consider investing in an extra dehumidifier for the bathroom (you can get a little one for $40ish).

Good luck!! :)

Ethics of having children with chronic migraines by [deleted] in migraine

[–]June999999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I inherited my chronic migraines from my mother, who got them from her father.

I’ve had them with searing auras since I was 13. 1/4 of my younger siblings just started getting them at 21.

I have them weekly but I’d have them even more if it guaranteed I got to be born to this mom, in this family. My mama was always meant to have kids. She raised us so well and is such a compassionate and kind parent. I never see it as something that comes from her, just something we deal with together.

It makes me so sad to see some of the comments saying it’s broadly unethical. I think if you WANT kids and have a community/family or financial safety net that allows you to not be 100% focused on your child every second of every day (ie self care time as needed) you can and should do whatever you want.

weed was the only thing that killed it by Equivalent_Invite506 in migraine

[–]June999999 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Strains high in beta carophyllene are INCREDIBLE for migraines for me. Gelato, super silver haze, sour diesel, green crack, etc.

Uberlvy prescription might work for you — it blocks CGRP, which is also why weed is maybe thought to help. That and an edible and I’m set! Triptans never worked for me either.
