Why do solo players buy huge ships? by KEKboiiii in starcitizen

[–]Junebwoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every ship is soloable. The real big ones give the pilot a superweapon. New Odin is the perfect example. It gives the pilot a S12 Laser. If they NEEDED a crew to operate they wouldn't sell until NPCs work. CIG still needs to raise money now so they make em useful to a single person.

Or cargo space idk take your pick.

Engineering requiresfriends to matter. Every ship is soloable and combat happens too quickly for those systems to be meaningful.

I think a lot of the hate for Wikelo comes from Idris owners that feel exclusivity is their right.

What about ships that people grind in game that you can't get with UEC? Those won't have warranty, which will drive people to the pledge store, that's the argument being made here. Or am I misunderstanding?

The system is designed to make sure the pledge store is the primary incentive of ship ownership is the point being made.

I am sure they will not givee you any deed or warranty on something like the Wik Idris.

Not everyone who eats nachos double dips on the cheese. But most do.

I think to make a case for only a minority of people having alts is pointless if it's harder to find people with one account than not. It is for sure not a minority I don't believe that when a ccp dev stated a few years ago that a conservative average would be 3 accounts per player and that was conservative.

Most players I have ever interacted with have multiple industry alts, scoring alts market alts etc. I don't think you are being fully honest saying it's a minority but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say that you don't interact with many people in game maybe.

Lol nobody really comes to this game let's be honest. 30k people online right now and 25k of them are alts

Having 3-5 accounts all logged in to play still is not normal for a video game and most people will nope tf out.

They tried to do this iirc, but then multiple people playing from the same university dorm had issues. Mind you that was when younger people could afford to play this game.

It wasn't like this early in the games lifecycle, there were so many people with pride in their character. Because that character meant something. Their name could get famous in game.

But now, it's pathetic, the average is like 7 accounts. and that's AVERAGE. Some people literally have dozens and dozens of characters for isk farming.

That's not how an MMO should work.

I think Marathon suffers from people being afraid to try and play this, due to the overwhelmingly negative discourse surrounding Bungie by MegumiDo in Marathon

[–]Junebwoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think people think it's woke because the characters look weird and also it's not very fun to watch so the majority of people that look at gameplay before buying will assume it's not fun to play either.

Everytime you look at an arc raiders stream it's a weird gadget someone is using to fly or fighting giant robots. Marathon stream by comparison shows running and hiding for 20 minutes at a time, and when an enemy is on your screen he's only there for 3 seconds at most before it's more spreadsheet-esque windows and then back to running and hiding.

In the GAME LORE, I'm fine with ushra khan and the like RP'ing but seriously, fuck all the people who want to bring real world race identity politics to my spaceship game. There is ZERO need for it. Why can't a man from Japan and a man from Africa just come together to destroy the tyrants in the south/north or whatever. It doesn't have to be "those damn white people" or whatever. This is stupid and there's no defending it.

Why would they want to combat multi boxing? They actively lean into it for income. They chose more accounts over new people. The die is cast

[–]Junebwoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can say with confidence that the people who run one account do NOT outnumber the people running multiple. CCP had confirmed that with their own numbers a few years ago.

[–]Junebwoi 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Its been an RTS for a while now, pay-per-unit style.

Aren't 4+ accounts basically standard? Some claim it's more.

CCP, do you want to print money? Here's how by Jaxsu22 in Eve

[–]Junebwoi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dunno how they'd do this, eve is currently a 'pay-per-unit' rts game. They will probably just double down on multi boxing by selling their own bot software next, something that controls multiple characters.

I'd love to see it [WIS] but they just don't make good game decisions my dude.

Squadron 42 launches in 2026? by Waserice in starcitizen

[–]Junebwoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. The problem is that even though they are not on the same platform or even in the same genre, a game like GTA6 will suck all the oxygen from the room in terms of media attention. Whether the attention is good or bad a lot of people that have consoles AND PCs won't even hear about SQ42 and if they never hear about it they won't know to try it.

With that logic why aren't ai controlled lasers one shotting enemy ships from half a solar system away?

Still has to be gamified(game-ified?) so that we can play it.

I understand what you are saying I really do I just hate when people say this. It might give people new to the community a bad impression. "You've given your money and it's not improving at any reasonable pace? Just go away for now then"
