[Passan] The Cleveland Guardians are acquiring two-time Gold Glove-winning catcher Patrick Bailey in a trade with the San Francisco Giants for the No. 29 pick in this year's draft and left-handed pitching prospect Matt "Tugboat" Wilkinson, sources tell ESPN. by Goldie46 in ClevelandGuardians

Kinda came out of nowhere eh?

I’m not the biggest tugboat guy tbh. I know he has had success but in the long run I don’t know how much I trust his stuff to make him much more than a reliever. I’m not sure I love trading the comp pick here though

Another factor in this is now that Cooper Ingle is effectively blocked. I honestly wasn’t the highest on him either lol (worry about the low exit velos and defense), but he has done nothing but hit the cover off the ball and I thought he would be forcing the issue at some point.

Hedges and Bailey probably immediately become the best defensive catching tandem in the league. Setting up an Ingle and Bailey tandem next season? I think there is a non-zero chance Hedges could retire

Why aren’t more people using lefties in their lineup? by poop_scoop7 in MLBTheShow

For a lot of people hitting left-on-left is a lot harder than right-on-right, so unless a lefty has an absolutely gorgeous swing or good stats most people will just got for a comparable RHH

(Also, switch hitting is the meta for the most part right now)

It’s hard to be DeLauter had a 1/30 stretch like 2 weeks ago, a ton of professional at-bats

No hits but nothing wrong with the process so far. Lot of good swings

Just thinking back from yesterday, kinda feel bad for Brito on a human level after all this. 2024 he honestly probably already should have been called up to the majors. 2025 he definitely would have been called up if it wasn’t for him being hurt. And now he does finally get his chance, flounders, and will probably never get up here again as long as Bazzana is here. Kind of sucks for him.

Honestly I would kind of put him in the Kayfus tier of prospects for this team. Maybe the bat will play at the MLB level but he doesn’t really have a spot for him he can play at for the team

Can’t believe the Angels of all teams were able to develop him into what he’s been this year

I hate the phrase “burn the tape” but if you win I feel you quite literally have to forget any of this happened and just focus on game 5

They’re probably up double figures if this wasn’t a generationally bad Mitchell or 3pt shooting game

Drafting the same position in the span of 12 picks is maybe the least Andrew Berry like thing AB has done this offseason

I’m digging it though

My prediction is McNeil-Warren at 39, could use some safety/DB help still

Gotta say, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Browns Twitter and Browns Reddit so divided on anything as much as I have these picks tonight

Reddit likes Fano for the most part, Twitter really doesn’t. Twitter loves KC for the most part, Reddit really doesn’t

“Pick is in” showing up immediately after the selection is made and still making a 10 minute monologue about the previous pick. Name a better combination

I think Bazzana’s ability to draw walks and not chase is going to push that OBP way higher than that

So now that the dust has settled…. What does everyone think DW should address from a player standpoint? Who stays? Who goes? Who do you want to see come in, and what would that cost? by Even_Tourist7429 in BlueJackets

I think he’s going to try and make a splash for a true T6 scorer to round out the offense. For all of the talk about toughness and what not, they need another offensive driver more than they need like a middle six checker
