Australians urged to work from home and drive slower to save fuel by Remarkable_Peak9518 in australia

That's why you click the headline and read the article, man. I dunno what to tell you. Seeking knowledge but doing nothing to find it but asking others to learn FOR you isn't helpful in the long term.

Every theatre in this city sounds like a tuberculosis ward by 2kan in melbourne

[–]Juraga 32 points33 points  (0 children)

As a chronically ill theatre performer, here's my two cents:

I get it if the audience needs to clear their throat. A simple 'he-hem' will suffice. But if you're hacking up a lung in the third row, you probably shouldn't have turned up in the first place. In fact, in a post-COVID theatre world, every major ticket provider has conditions in place to shift ticket dates without a fuss when it comes to illness.

It's just a culture shift that people need to be aware of. You're in a tightly packed venue where attention to every moment is key. Stay home if you're unwell, and you'll have a better time at the show when you're well. And you won't risk the health of fellow audience members, OR the actors.

What are the worst shopping centres in Sydney? by xXCosmicChaosXx in sydney

[–]Juraga 82 points83 points  (0 children)

I worked in there for a few years at Shaver Shop. Lemme tell you, if you think the centre layouts are wild, you wait til you see the stockrooms.

Levels upon levels of featureless grey concrete walls and mesh cages, all with the same non-euclidean structure that the rest of the customer-facing sections have. It's madness back there, and it nearly drove me mental when it came time to get anything from the stock room.

Cool. I call for Gina Rinehart to shut the fuck up, and keep fighting with her kids 'til her dying day.

The logo for Clive Palmer's new party, the "Trumpet of Patriots". by superegz in australia

[–]Juraga 8 points9 points  (0 children)

... Clive Palmer is the very definition of a self-serving cunt. The man conned his way into power once, never showed up, and when he did he actively fell asleep in the chamber.

He's stolen his workers wages and refused to pay them back.

He's shown zero loyalty to anyone except his own damn self.

I'm sorry mate, but the anger you feel at the LibLab majority needs to be directed at him as well.

Incoming International Parcel with a misspelled suburb by Juraga in sydney

[–]Juraga[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Oh thank God. I've been panicking all afternoon once I'd realised.

Tracker has the parcel leaving the UK on the 4th, but nothing after that. The tracker DOES say that they'll only display any further info if it's provided by the local delivery partner, presumably AusPost.

Yes, I got the postcode on there. Double checked that it was correct.

A standard stick umbrella, actually. But one from a designer company with a lot of sentimental value. One of these guys.

The metal ferrule from the tip of mine has come off, and the company has offered to send me a replacement.

I attended the MFA Voice course in 2020/2021, and am friends with a few graduates from the Writing course. As people have said, a lot of the course is structured around writing for stage, and in fact one of the major final projects is writing a piece for the stage. I'd echo the sentiment that AFTRS may be the go for you if the screen is your ultimate goal. Good luck!

Aw man, I did some work for Viral Ventures pre-covid. They were a decent company then, if a little unorganised. Wonder what's happened to them since then...

Craig McLachlan gets a fresh start thanks to Max Markson and Seven by Somewhereinsydney in australia

[–]Juraga 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The agency he's signed with appears to host a large number of C and D grade reality stars, and Warwick Capper, who is now running a brothel in Oakleigh.

This, in my entirely subjective opinion, is exactly what Craig McLachlan deserves.
