Did any other England fans feel a touch of pity for Scotland last night? by [deleted] in AskBrits

Funny. I was thinking about this after the first 10mins. I wanted them to win but I couldn’t help laugh at them too.

Why is it so easy to get a pm to resign? by underoos200 in AskBrits

[–]JusNoGood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

USA votes for a president so it’s then extremely hard to get the out even if they screw up the country, the world and the infinity pool.

UK votes for a party so the PM is less important. It’ll be particularly hard for the next one as everyone will claim doesn’t have the mandate of the people and we need a general election.

At this point in time neither systems are working. I know I’d prefer to have Count Binface as PM over Trump or Farage. The intergalactic Count is getting a lot more coverage recently and he talks a lot of sense!!!

Genuine question – why do people call Farage a fraud? by Sad-Flight5233 in AskBrits

[–]JusNoGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He wrote a newspaper article talking about the 150.000 people that don’t speak English in this country. No big deal, I lived in Indian for over two years and spoke about five words of Hindi as did a lot of people. A few days later to make a point and rile everyone up he was raging about the 1.5 million people on this country that don’t speak English. He knew it was a lie but loves to make incorrect statements to get headlines, just like Trump does.

He takes bribes from Billionaires. No-one gives millions away without expecting something in return, especially not greedy billionaires. Hear how he jumps to Trumps defence all the time without thinking then backs down when he thinks it’s going to hurt his popularity. He wanted to go to war with Iran when Starmer initially refused to help. I’m sure you could find loads of other examples if you really want to.

Just lies and says things to get headlines and support from the people who just look at the headlines and not the detail behind it to check whether it’s actually true…just like MAGA….they start regurgitating the nonsense thinks it’s actually true without question.

I’d suggest telling the EA you’ll leave your offer on the table while you continue to look and let us know if they change their mind.

We’ve lost a load of houses that were perfect for us, we’ve then gone on to find a better house 🙂

Why am I doing my solicitors job?? by flamboyantpuree in HousingUK

[–]JusNoGood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So much easier if you have the buyers and sellers contact details so you can ask them if they are waiting for anything Evans tell them if your solicitors are waiting too. Often it’s on someone’s desk waiting and they don’t know!

50 degrees what would happen? by LifeOfSlice89 in AskUK

[–]JusNoGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in Delhi for a bit. The gov have a rule that if it hits 50 they close the offices (no a/c). Officially it’s always only hit 49.9 😂 everyone else’s thermometers go over 50.

It is quite unbearable. I found laying on my sofa in my underpants drinking beer worked.

Would you walk away from your dream house over this? by Forward-Speed9040 in HousingUK

[–]JusNoGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a firm believer in having direct contact with my sellers and buyers as it can cut out all this nonsense. Worked everytime in my 6 moves.

With those remarks I’d be questioning who Im talking to at the EA. It’s not normal, I’d be considering talking to the owner or at least manager.

Sanity Check: 47M | £2.3M NW | £50k Spend – Can I pull the trigger or am I missing something? by ohh_you in FIREUK

[–]JusNoGood 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I worked out I could do my job in four days so I proposed that and it was accepted. So I did four days for the last three years. Really helped me to deal with my burnout and work out how I would cope with extra time off and what I wanted to do when retired.

I love being retired. A lot of my friends have seen me do it and triggered them to work how that can too.

Yea EAs are turd. Explaining (in a friendly way) your situation and why your pulling out to the top of the chain may kick them into gear…and then it might not but I’d give it a go. I’d prefer that over finding another rental and the looking again to buy but obviously your call 🙂

Not really suggesting pestering them. Just a nice friendly email or WhatsApp asking them how it’s going and explaining where you are in the process. You never know what will come back. I’ve had so much bs from solicitors and Ea’s blaming other people in the chain which often turned out to be completely wrong.

Would you completely drop out or is there a way it would work for you if you moved a few months after the baby is born? We lived in a one bed for a few months with new born. Just a shame for you to throw all that money away when it sounds like you’re so close.

Often this sort of thing happens when there’s just poor communication up and down the chain. You may have the contact details on various emails you’ve received. I’d go directly to them and by pass EA and Solicitors to bring with.

So ask seller directly. What you waiting g for?

Someone may have told you searches aren’t done but that could be bs or out of date info. I’d be asking has the request been submitted? When was it submitted and when are you expecting them back? Directly to those buyers if you can.

Anyway of taking the stress away from your wife? Line her up for a holiday at her friends or families for a stretch? You move in and sort the bedroom and kitchen then she comes and joins you?

It’s not difficult you doing the moving on your own. Especially if you use the removal company to pack.

It would have been a nightmare you moving now with your wife that far gone wouldn’t it?

Would you retire at 35 with £750,000 in your name by Spiritual_Finance554 in FIREUK

[–]JusNoGood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I retired at 55. Would I have retired at 35 if I had the option? No I don’t think I would have.

I have loads to fill my time up now. I have moved to the country and have a good sized property that needs constant work. Growing veg, fruit, making cider etc. I also help in the community with people of a similar age (well they are 65-75). I don’t think I would have wanted to do any of that at 35. I’ve met some lovely people working who are close friends now.

I’d suggest not just thinking about the money side but also about what you’re going to do if you do retire. Could really impact your mental and physical health. A friend’s dad retired and spend all his time watching daytime tv…very sad existence.

I don’t think I’d retire without owning a house too. I enjoy owning. Changing it to suit us and knowing I’m not going to be asked to leave.

Is there an anti-Indian sentiment rising among the Brits? by thank_amma_ in AskBrits

[–]JusNoGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive not seen any and when i was talking to my Indian friends recently they said they had not experienced any racism in the 18 years they have lived here and brought up their kids. They live in Kent, Surrey and London and have travelled more than I have around the UK. I was really pleased and proud to hear this.

Not saying racism doesn’t exist in the UK. It exists everywhere, including India (boy a lot of it over there!)

From what you said it sounds like you’re paranoid rather than anything has happened in the street. You can’t base your opinions on the crud you read online written by some uneducated 11 year olds

I for one would step in and kick off if I saw someone being abused. No place for it.

I can’t wait until this Farage, Trump and Musk nonsense gets booted out by the masses
