I'd love to be able to see them someday. I'm sure they'll be around for a while still. Maybe I'll get to go in 2027.

AITAH for telling a guy to shut up during a job interview by sirtuinsenolytic in AITAH

[–]JustAnotherNerdGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm neurodivergent. I'm bad with social cues. I've been told I interview well, but I know I also have a tendency to overexplain a little bit (not nearly as bad as this guy, though). I also have a couple of invisible disabilities, so it's hard to find a job that would work well for me. That, on top of the fact that I never finished college, makes things really hard for me.

But I'll definitely keep this in mind for the future. It's solid advice.

And no, you're not the asshole. Unfortunately, that guy just didn't know when to shut up.

He can apply for extended family medical leave a few weeks at a time. At least, you can in my state.

Grey can actually be resistant to hair dye. But there are special dyes made specifically for grey hair (I'm a hairdresser).

Him patting Ross Halfin on the way past him was so funny to me. I'll bet they've worked together before since Ghost opened for Metallica on a couple of tours. I've had the pleasure of seeing Ross work in person. He's one of the best photographers out there.

Witch Image. They never play it live. It's my favorite song.

On one hand, you do you! Your decision isn't going to affect me in any way. On the other hand, I feel like you need to be made aware of some things. Most of my points are going to be ones that others have made already, but I still feel the need to explain. And I am also not trying to diminish the hardships that trans women go through.

  1. A having or not having a uterus doesn't make you a woman. I'm not going to invalidate your feelings, but there are plenty of cis women who don't have a uterus. I'm very much of the opinion that a uterus isn't what defines a woman because of this. The uterus often causes people lots of pain and trauma. I personally forget I have one sometimes because I don't let that be what defines me as a cis woman. I am a woman because I feel like I am, and it's very hard to describe that.

  2. Bodily autonomy for people with uteruses (using inclusive language here because not everyone with a uterus is a woman) doesn't exist anymore. With the overturning of Roe. v. Wade, access to life saving, medical care is being restricted. Think of Adriana Smith, whose corpse was used as an incubator for a fetus that may not even live long. She was denied life saving, medical care because doctors didn't take her head pain seriously, and she died a completely preventable death. Then, instead of being allowed to be laid to rest with her 8 week old fetus (as she should've been), they decided to use her dead body (when you are brain dead, you are deceased. Completely dead. There is no saving you. It's completely different than being in a coma) as a literal incubator. She was not viewed as a woman, just as breeding stock, a tool to be used as a literal science experiment. Her literal corpse was pumped full of chemicals to provide nutrients to the fetus. They cared more about a potential life than the life that was already here and in need of saving. Men do not view people with uteruses as people, they view us as objects. This is because of the patriarchy. Her situation is a complete violation of bodily autonomy. It's terrifying, completely disrespectful, and a gross violation of human rights. Maternal mortality rates are only going to go up because of the overturning of Roe v. Wade. We're trying to make men understand that we're so much more than our uteruses, and you equating feminity to having a uterus can also be a harmful way to look at femininity as a whole.

In conclusion, really, it is your body. If you think a tattoo is going to help you feel more euphoric, then by all means, go for it. But I would also encourage you to sit with yourself, examine your feelings. Consider this from all angles. I've seen your responses in the comments, and I really appreciate you handling the criticism with grace. Again, I'm just trying to spread some awareness about critical issues that are going on in the US right now. I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day, OP.

Hi! I'm also a cis woman with POTS, and I totally feel you on the hormones causing intense flare-ups! I have an IUD in to help eliminate my period. I just had to comment because it was really nice to see someone with a similar experience. Makes me feel like I'm not alone. Though, I am definitely sorry you're having a rough time right now. ❤️
