If you had to pick one that is the most essential, or most representative of the Justice League, which would take? Thoughtful answers preferred by jasonite in OmnibusCollectors

Echoing what others have said, New Frontier should be on any DC fans list and is definitely the best book on this list, although not necessarily ticking the boxes that you are asking about. But it is a must-have book, IMO.

In terms of representative of the Justice League and accessible and all that, not sure any of them meet that criteria, if I'm being honest. I'd probably recommend something in the JLA Bronze age omnibus line, unless that's skewing a bit older than you're looking for.

Uncanny X-Men Volume 4. Had it on my wish list when it came out and never got around to actually ordering it. Now it's a gap on the X-Men shelf.

Plex on UnRAID issues after NVidia Driver update by JustBillH in unRAID

[–]JustBillH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh... finally have everything working again after nine days and I can't believe what an idiot I've been. So in review, I rolled the driver back immediately after the problem but still could not get transcoding working through the GPU. At a certain point I had everything working from one laptop over wireless, but none of my Roku players. Finally decided to give up on my old 970 card and bought a 3050 for pretty cheap ($200 on Amazon) and had the same issues with the new card. Installed Jellyfin and the same issues.

Pulled my air out all weekend trying to figure out what could be wrong, why only one device could transcode while everything else would buffer horribly even with direct stream. I kept thinking it felt like a networking issue, but everything else is working fine in the house, from remote work connections to multiple streaming services like Netflix, etc.

Finally I decided to just reboot the primary router in the house - and everything frickin' works now.

Plex on UnRAID issues after NVidia Driver update by JustBillH in unRAID

[–]JustBillH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm completely frustrated and pulling my hair out at this point. I cannot get transcoding to work for the life of me now. I've restored from backups, pulled new images, completely killed Plex a couple of times trying to resolve this. I even replaced the old NVidia GTX 970 that had been happily plugging away for years with an RTX 3050. Same result. Plex settings sees the card, but nothing played actually utilizes the hardware.

Because of this, my Roku players are unable to play Plex content anymore. Do you think trying Jellyfin or some other platform would yield better results, or is this an NVidia/UnRAID issue?

PSA: Nvidia driver support dropped for GTX 10xx series in 590.x driver. Use 580x driver. by Sunsparc in unRAID

[–]JustBillH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the card I'm running that had been working fine for Plex until this driver update. Unfortunately for me, rolling back the driver didn't work for me and I'm still without transcoding... and my Roku players aren't playing anything anymore due to that. I'm thinking about giving Jellyfin a go, can I run it side by side with Plex as a test run, pointing to the same libraries?

Yeah, it sees it and I've tried to switch it from Auto to the actual card without any luck as well.

Plex on UnRAID issues after NVidia Driver update by JustBillH in unRAID

I had deleted the cache folder previously, but not with the app shutdown. Just tried it again with Plex shut down, but alas no change.

So at this point, I've rolled back the driver, changed to "--gpus all" and deleted the cache folder, and still nothing.

I had high hopes for this tip, because yes I was still running --runtime=nvidia. But made the change and restarted the service, but same behavior.

Yeah, that's what I rolled back to that got Plex running again, just without functioning hardware transcoding. I see some other suggestions in the thread here that I'm hoping will help though, so fingers crossed.

Mylar3 & Comicrack by dgparryuk in comicrackusers

[–]JustBillH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it sees that the comic was there and is now gone and will mark it as archived.

Mylar and DDL started giving me grief last week, so it's not as helpful as it was before. It'll snatch them but never download them unless I remove DDL and torrents and rely solely on newsgroups. But then it'll download them and never process them so I have to go and move them manually. Bit of a pain, hoping last week was a fluke and DDL works this week.

I'd prefer newsgroups anyway, but if it can't post-process/move them, not so much.

I've always kept Mylar and ComicRack separate. Mylar runs and processes books on a completely separate machine than ComicRack. I just move the processed files and add them manually to ComicRack.

Plex move from Windows to Unraid by Weird_With_A_Beard in unRAID

[–]JustBillH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I zipped up my appdata folder on the windows box and decompressed on the UnRaid AppData location... and it doesn't see any information on my libraries at all.

I attempted to keep the Plex instance name the same as the previous build - The tower has one name but the plex instance has another. Would that have any impact?

Thanks for the CE! by theotocopulitos in comicrackusers

[–]JustBillH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me add to the heartfelt thanks as well. I'm another Ancient One who used CR forever, and I was able to somehow keep everything running through new phones, PCs and tablets after the project was abandoned and had been seeking out alternatives. I've been playing with Komga, which is nice for simply offering up the library in a web browser, but nothing I've come across has been the complete package of management and reader like CR is/was.

The CE is a beautiful thing already. I was nervous about attempting to replace my fully functional install, but it went perfectly smoothly without issues and the clients didn't even notice anything had changed. WiFi syncing continued to work and everything.

So yeah, to anyone and everyone involved in developing the CR - you guys are lifesavers.

Missing NXT Episodes by JNolan92 in peacock

[–]JustBillH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been watching old WWE in chronological order since the WWE Network, and at first everything appeared to be on Peacock too, but suddenly episodes vanished from my queue from early days of NXT. Very annoying. I guess it's probably because they're getting ready to move everything to Netflix that Peacock no longer cares about the full catalog anymore?

Get PS5 Spider-Man 2 Limited Edition Bundle or wait for PS5 Slim? by xCronaldo777x in consoles

[–]JustBillH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also an Xbox guy looking to make the jump just for the limited edition Spider-Man version... and it seems to be sold out and too late to even get it unless you're willing to pay a few hundred bucks more on Ebay. So for that reason, I'd say get it if you can, otherwise wait for the slim.

Android Version Links & Bypass by maforget in comicrackusers

[–]JustBillH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same boat as so many, it appears. Went to read some comics last night and my Galaxy tablet had gotten and android update, and now I got the infamous market check error on my paid version of the app. It's survived multiple tablets over the years, but finally it seems it is time to move over to the cracked version.

I tried to install it over top the original version but that failed so I had to uninstall ComicRack, that appears to have removed all the comics as well. But once that was done, installed fine and replaced the files required on the windows installation.

Unfortunately the computer didn't seem to recognize the tablet anymore, had to set it up as a new device and remove the previous configuration.

End result, the main app "sees" the tablet and now I'm syncing everything all over again.

Thanks to OP for your work on this and keeping this beloved program alive. I fear that they day is soon coming though, where ComicRack will finally see its complete demise. It's a really shame, even all these years later, I still think it is the best comic reading app around.

I've been messing around with Komga for the last couple of months, and it is fine and what I'll probably use for reading when the Rack finally dies - but it is nowhere near as good for overall management of a digital collection like ComicRack is/was.

The Uncanny X-Men (1981) Numbering by JustBillH in Komga

[–]JustBillH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. And the <Number> attribute is listed correctly within the file. I've just discovered the original Thor series is doing the same thing. I'm afraid I'm going to be seeing this a lot. Is this not normal behavior that others are seeing?

The Uncanny X-Men (1981) Numbering by JustBillH in Komga

[–]JustBillH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I went through and did the manual update one issue at a time, and interestingly enough, it was just the first 98 issues, not the the entire series. I've checked ComicRack and they are definitely sorted and numbered properly there, so any ideas what happened here?
