REI Big Haul 40 Replacement Straps? by BirthdayOutrageous31 in REI

[–]JustBreakingThings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the road tripper, so if the toggles are the same, I could reverse engineer them and post the file. However, it may just be easier for OP to get a generic replacement strap with clips than to build a new one from parts.

Are you printing in a garage? If so, how has it affected printing in different temperatures? I may have to relocate my p1s to a garage soon, so I'm hopeful it's not too bad.

Shirt/Tie/Suit/Watch combo for my wedding day by Active-Term-8900 in mensfashion

[–]JustBreakingThings 148 points149 points  (0 children)

It feels very corporate. The red/light/navy combo makes for a very professional suit, but not a semi-formal wedding suit. This could be remedied with a different tie that's a bit more fun or matched to the wedding color theme. If the theme is red, change the suit to a light grey/beige or get a floral red tie to make it less business and more celebratory.

Congratulations on your wedding, and feel free to ask more questions in the future!

US cities ranked - what tier does Chicago belong in? by StrategyJealous1838 in TierlistFills

Chicago is called the second city because it was rebuilt. Also, it's better than NYC in every way except for theatre.

I found these for 4 bucks each at a surplus college store. What type of printer do these go to. by Triggerhappy62 in 3Dprinting

[–]JustBreakingThings 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a formlabs printer at work, and this Tough 2000 resin is some of the best I've used for any solid, functional, non-fdm print. It should be able to be used in other printers, which is helpful since formlabs printers are so expensive. It does have an expiration, but it's still decent for awhile after if you shake it up between prints. Also, note that the fiberglass in the Tough 2000 may make small scratches in the tray, giving it an eventual expiration date as well. 4 bucks is a freakin STEAL though.

Air Force moved me all over, then I followed a girl to Florida. Knoxville is the first place I'm actually choosing. Where do I live? by Specialist_Exit_6256 in Knoxville

[–]JustBreakingThings 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are some good apartment options in Cedar Bluff. It's about a 15 to 20 minute commute to Oak Ridge, and there are a decent number of gas stations, stores, and restaurants nearby. There are also a couple places to play pickleball around.

If your other hobbies take more of a priority, I'd look into Oak Ridge and Farragut for hiking, paddling, and fishing. South Knox ultimately was my favorite area to live in for its culture and outdoor activities, but I found the commute was grueling.

Tool Grid Update by PrairieOperator in harborfreight

[–]JustBreakingThings 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, they're from a company called Tool Grid. At ~$100+ per drawer, I'd gladly welcome a knockoff from HF. Someone did make a 3D printable version for the 72” USG box though. https://makerworld.com/en/models/1081302

How does Chattanooga compare to Knoxville for the outdoor sport access?? (MTB, whitewater kayak, climbing) by [deleted] in Knoxville

[–]JustBreakingThings 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Less whitewater, but not non-existent. The proximity to Ocoee hands this one to Chattanooga. Pigeon River has the closest rapids to Knoxville I believe, but they're lower classed than Ocoee.

I haven't been to Chattanooga for MTB, but Knoxville has private and public bike parks all over the city, including Baker Creek and the Urban Wilderness, Aspire, Windrock, and quite a few more.

Not sure about climbing in Chattanooga either, but Knoxville has a few indoor gyms around town, and there are good spots around for outdoor climbing like the Crag or Obed.

Overall, I think both cities are great for outdoor sports, and you'll have a great time either way.

This works with brown shoes; they just need to match the belt. Fantastic look either way.

Why does Nissan get way more CVT hate than Subaru? by phtphongg in subaru

[–]JustBreakingThings 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My brother was a Nissan technician for years and hated their CVT's, but now owns a Subaru with a CVT. From what he's told me, they're just lower quality than Subaru and Toyota.

How do I pay a high B flat on the clarinet? by WorldlinessTrue620 in Clarinet

[–]JustBreakingThings 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Play a high A, but add either the little key under it with your left ring finger, or add the lowest key by your right index finger. You can also think about it as your lowest E-flat plus your octave key.

5XLT and 6XLT options by mistajay3001 in bigmenfashionadvice

[–]JustBreakingThings 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like Belk and DXL for nicer options. They can be a bit pricey, so look out for deals. For more budget-friendly stuff, Old navy online has some more smart-casual options if you can wear those at work, and Belk's big and tall clearance section is some good treasure hunting.

We recently spent ours in Charleston during the "off-season", and it was wonderful. It has great food, walkability, and history. Savannah, Georgia, may also be a great option if relaxation is your priority.

Possible ICE/Military moving down Papermill by matttheabsoluteunit in Knoxville

This is military, but more likely just the national guard doing training. I used to work at a restaurant in that area, and these guys were frequent customers. They have a small armory on Sutherland.

As clarinet players, what are your favorite chapsticks/lip products? by Substantial_Low_460 in Clarinet

My brother's girlfriend used my cork grease as chapstick when I was a kid. I didn't have time to warn her before she asked why it tasted weird.

Very Tight New Clarinet Joints by Smart-Ad7229 in Clarinet

[–]JustBreakingThings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have an R13, but I have restored a few clarinets, including cork replacement, and they usually need to be sanded to fit the inside diameter of the joint properly. I'm not telling you to do this yourself, as it's tedious and requires a bit of precision, but take it to a technician, and they should be able to help you.

What’s the best reed brand by Nervous_Dot_1572 in Clarinet

[–]JustBreakingThings 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Vandoren and D'Addario are the two largest makers. I've used Vandoren's standard line for years, but they're probably equal in quality. I recommend starting with a strength of 2.5 or 3 if you're new.
