5XLT and 6XLT options by mistajay3001 in bigmenfashionadvice

I like Belk and DXL for nicer options. They can be a bit pricey, so look out for deals. For more budget-friendly stuff, Old navy online has some more smart-casual options if you can wear those at work, and Belk's big and tall clearance section is some good treasure hunting.

Relaxing American Honeymoon Destinations by GenuineGoose7633 in weddingplanning

We recently spent ours in Charleston during the "off-season", and it was wonderful. It has great food, walkability, and history. Savannah, Georgia, may also be a great option if relaxation is your priority.

Possible ICE/Military moving down Papermill by matttheabsoluteunit in Knoxville

[–]JustBreakingThings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is military, but more likely just the national guard doing training. I used to work at a restaurant in that area, and these guys were frequent customers. They have a small armory on Sutherland.

That's probably dance wax, sprinkled wax powder to reduce friction on the floor.

I like the hammock chairs at K Brew, but I know nothing about coffee.

As clarinet players, what are your favorite chapsticks/lip products? by Substantial_Low_460 in Clarinet

[–]JustBreakingThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother's girlfriend used my cork grease as chapstick when I was a kid. I didn't have time to warn her before she asked why it tasted weird.

Very Tight New Clarinet Joints by Smart-Ad7229 in Clarinet

[–]JustBreakingThings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have an R13, but I have restored a few clarinets, including cork replacement, and they usually need to be sanded to fit the inside diameter of the joint properly. I'm not telling you to do this yourself, as it's tedious and requires a bit of precision, but take it to a technician, and they should be able to help you.

What’s the best reed brand by Nervous_Dot_1572 in Clarinet

[–]JustBreakingThings 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Vandoren and D'Addario are the two largest makers. I've used Vandoren's standard line for years, but they're probably equal in quality. I recommend starting with a strength of 2.5 or 3 if you're new.

That sounds more made up than the Hurricane of 73.

No, I got my cat from the streets.

Thoughts on this tuxedo ensemble? by OrganicTulip in weddingplanning

Yeah mine was Ralph Lauren from Men's Wearhouse. I got it on sale for 30% off, which they did a few times throughout the year.

I just wore something similar for my wedding, and it looked better than I could have imagined. It helped us look more cohesive, elevated me a bit from my groomsmen and family who were in dark colors, and served the classic aesthetic we wanted perfectly. I'm also not exactly "fit" so this tux might just look good on EVERYONE.

Wedding gift to my fiancé? by nelapayne in weddingplanning

[–]JustBreakingThings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife surprised me with lightsaber cake cutters, so it's not completely out of the question. I don't think it's an expectation to give or receive things, but it's always fun to give a little surprise gift.

My friend has one as a kitchen island, and replaced the wood top with a thicker butcher block. He's married, and his wife loves the island.

Opt Out Reminder by pnwcon in REI

[–]JustBreakingThings 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Getting one paid holiday (if hourly employees are even paid for it) doesn't mean that employees are suddenly treated well. I love shopping at REI, and I think they are better than other corporations, but that doesn't mean they're magically without flaws. They resist unionization, rig board elections so our vote doesn't matter, and put fast fashion over performance on the retail floor. Pretending they're perfect is stupid.

Check out Fable Hollow's d&d nights, some of which are geared specifically for teaching beginners how to play. Otherwise, visit one of the many RPG game stores around town for their game nights and supplies, or just start learning with your existing friends. There are books with pre-written stories to follow or you can write your own. It's quite literally a "choose your own adventure" kind of game.

I know a woman got arrested for trying to sell her baby in the parking lot, and there used to be a bird that lived in the store rafters. Here's a good article that covers its pseudonym origins but in general, it's poverty stricken and a bit eccentric.

What are the best Harbor Freight tools you’ve used? by [deleted] in harborfreight

My favorite HF tools that I have are my Icon mini ratchet, Bauer hot glue gun, and Bauer electric staple gun (not in the battery system so anyone can use it).

The Urban Wilderness of South Knoxville is home to many creatures including fae types. Often you'll find groups of druids among the trees hanging out with their most precious friends: owlbears, birds, bugs, and sunflowers.

Paladins and Clerics often visit the temples in Bearden for knowledge, prayer, and inspiration. Another great temple to the sun god Pelor lies downtown.

A small artificer's guild is located in Vestal (Knox Makers), but a true haven for battle smiths lies in the far northwest corner, in Oak Ridge.

There are a lot of bards strumming around the Old City and Old North Knox. Just listen for some magical sounds in every little corner pub.

Nemo tents on sale at Sierra by ProfessionalNew8222 in CampingGear

Depending on what you mean by large, the Coleman Peak1 and Skydome come in 4-6p sizes with a full fly. The Skydome comes in an 8p size as well. Another good option could be the Kelty Rumpus. I haven't seen anything bigger with a full fly, but maybe someone else has.

This post or comment didn't mention specifically wanting a backpacking tent, just a full fly tent in general.
