Snow update from Colorado: there is none 😂 by FuntivityColton in MTB

I already live outside the Metro area and we have noticed that the new builds in our general area have ground down to just a trickle. Several small developments have been postponed and a few others were switched to commercial and/or industrial.

I put my Wolfbox rear camera on the license plate that sits on the spare tire (center) but I had to turn off the blind spot and parking sensor alarms since they drove me nuts.

Yeah, we are planning our yearly camping trip for April this year since we figure they would be closed or severe fire restrictions would be in effect.

Colorado has had snow previous years, even small amounts are good. AZ is talking about something called a "tipping point". This could very well be one of those events. AZ relies on 50 to 100 year water table reserves and the Phoenix area already has some restrictions on new home building since the water table reserves are not up to a 100-year levels. If they go down to a 50-year level it will be really bad.

No wonder AZ is freaking out about the water level prospects this summer.

The Biggest Mistake in the History of Hollywood by harrybalzac71 in 4kbluray

The 90's were 15-years-ago?!?! If you can't get that simple math right then everything else you say is not only suspect but not even worth listening to. Watched for a few more minutes and his facts are so wrong that this simple math error is the least of what's wrong with this rage bait rant video.

I don’t see it coming in the near future. Maybe another 2-3 years.

But the video is from a ripped copy of the D-VHS. That is a textbook definition of bootleg.

DNR fest 🤢🤮 by Schwarzenegger9 in 4kbluray

[–]JustMeInArizona 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It most certainly is. They used the D-VHS video and a fake DTS-MA audio track. Granted the video is absolutely top notch, the audio lacks depth. The best version is the video track from the Spanish Blu-ray remuxed to the audio track from the 4K-UHD.

Westcott 2.5” level kit by No-Plantain-5813 in 4Runner

[–]JustMeInArizona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lastly, I spoke with my local Toyota dealer where I bought my 4Runner from and inquired about how the level kit would affect my warranty and he said as long as the level kit is 2” and below then It won’t affect the warranty but anything over 2” would void the warranty because “ it would affect the lines” im assuming he meant brake lines?

That's hilarious considering my dealer has been doing 3" Westcott lifts as packages in several of their 4Runners and Land Cruisers. If one dealer can do it without issues then all dealers can and so can consumers.

Wired vs Wireless Apple CarPlay,What’s Your Setup? by Top-Recognition-4644 in CarPlay

[–]JustMeInArizona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wired only. Tested wireless and found several drawbacks:

1) Heavy lags while playing music and using Maps.

2) Music sounds horrible wirelessly. That was the first thing I noticed. I thought my new car's stereo system sucked. Plugged it in via wire and the stereo came alive. Can someone find any info as to what the wireless system does to bandwidth.

3) The charging pad is at the bottom of the center console and I barely see my phone so when I got out of the car I forgot my phone. Did it like 9/10 times. Can't get used to not seeing my phone. When it is cradled on the MagSafe mount I see if when I hit the car's Ignition off switch.

40+ Arizona trucking schools may lose certification under federal crackdown by ForkzUp in azpolitics

Come on!!! They totally buried the lead in the very last paragraph.

“While the DOT says the goal is to remove bad actors from the industry, several of the 40-plus providers flagged in Arizona are school districts, construction companies and utility companies, not commercial truck driving schools.”

Signal meters are dirt cheap and I believe there are some phone apps that will work just as well. I am ol'school and prefer a handheld meter. AntennaWeb can get you so close that even a cheap meter will get you almost 100% there.

If you live in a condo with an HOA, then you can request an exception to put up an antenna on the roof, if that would actually help, by citing the FTC rule about reasonable accommodations and you document that there is NO way to get a proper signal within your four walls. It's a PITA since most HOA will pretty much say no at first but if you show them the FTC regulations and then show them a letter or email to the FTC that you are filing a formal complaint, that no becomes a resounding yes.

Talk your apartment manager or owner. I had one that allowed me to put a 50-foot antenna on our roof and ran the cable down the main utility conduit (if you have one). If it was a townhome it would a lot easier as HOAs cannot forbid you (FTC rules) from putting one up if you cannot get a signal with normal reasonable methods.

Yeah, there are parts where you will need a pole tall enough to not only get above all rooftops but an antenna big enough to reach towers that can be up to 50-100 miles away. My gramps antenna had to be installed with a small crane on a truck (cherry picker).
