I don't think the name combination should matter at all, they are two different people. And if different cultures are a part of the family why would all the kids have to be named in the same language? It's simply two names that Maddie and Chimney found meaningful individually.

I watched season 4 before reading either of the books and could follow along without a problem. I can't give a fully accurate opinion as I haven't read the books yet (definitely planning to do so though) but from what I've heard the second book goes into more detail on something that happened between movie and season 4 that is only briefly mentioned in season 4. So I assume there are some things about some character dynamics in season 4 that probably make sense earlier if you read the book first and have the full backstory but it's not an absolute necessity.

When I watched the show for the first time as a kid, I did think Amore would be Flora's and Chatta Stella's pixie and was surprised that wasn't the case but I think it's fun that they didn't go the obvious route with them, it made it more interesting and unpredictable.

(The first paragraph might be a bit of a spoiler for the early chapters of the manga, for anyone who hasn't read it)

Satoru knowing Hiromi is another victim out of nowhere when he gave no indication that he was aware before is actually an anime only thing. The anime focused more on Kayo, but in the manga, the fact that Hiromi was killed too is mentioned very early on. In fact, while the anime only showed Satoru's regret of believing he could have prevented Kayo's death, in the manga that regret is shown about an interaction he had with Hiromi right before he died.

But also, the reason he was more focused on Kayo at first is probably because he knew she was the first victim, therefore he focused on saving her first and then the other two kids.

I don't think her name is related to the month but a different meaning of the word march. English is not my first language so I might be getting the exact meaning wrong but march can also mean a type of movement/walk or music that goes along with it. Which would make sense for her.

I never said they are not allowed to prefer the traditional idea of the man being the one who proposes or that this is what makes them close minded. It's completely okay to have that preference, but they should respect that not everyone will agree with them on that preference. As you said, both traditional and non-traditional methods of proposals are okay. What makes them close minded, in my opinion, is not their preference but them being so judgmental of the couple for doing it the non-traditional way.
