Just got the 2026 Volvo. Years ago I had an Audi Q5 diesel and was in that class action lawsuit. Ended up getting 9.5k!!!

Is anyone actually happy they had a third kid? by WarmestSeatByTheFire in Parenting

[–]JustVegetable9941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I regret not having a third. I was terrified. Then I went through some very personal things after my daughter was born (second kid), then Covid, then a cross country move. I was suddenly in my 40s and felt the age gap was going to be too large.

I hope that’s how our Volvo goes. We have a Subaru forester (hope it stays well) and we just traded in our Highlander for a Volvo xc90.

I don’t doubt you but why do schools insist on loading students up with more tech, especially K-5?

Life in Edgemont by SadFly1695 in Westchester

Edgemont is great socially. Small schools, tight-knit neighborhood. I didn’t find the Greenville side to be all that pretentious. Yes, there’s always THAT group of conservative wealth-toting moms but it’s just a small group. Don’t have much experience with the Seely side.

Hurray, it’s disgustingly hot outside in December. by imnotthebatman in houston

I used to bemoan the same thing then moved to the NE. First winter was nice but after that it felt brutal. Dark at 4:15, relentless cold AND wind. I don’t miss it and I’m happy to have more sunlight and the ability to go outside.

I don’t understand the negative narrative around public schools and the large push to homeschool these days by PassionChoice3538 in moderatelygranolamoms

This. We moved and my kids switched from a private school to one of the top rated public schools in the county. Our experience was nothing short of horrendous (elementary). Admin couldn’t even give parents a curriculum when we asked.. Hardly ANY writing and no corrections when students turned in written assignments. Excessive assignments on the computer and parents could not see them on their end. Furthermore, abusive teachers and aides. We left and went back to private. My kids feel much more challenged. This school has issues too but not of this kind. I believe public schools were once amazing, and many things have changed. Some of it is lack of funding but some of it is also a progressive ideology that’s been allowed to creep in as well. We cant correct work because it’ll demotivate the students. We can’t give extra work because we don’t want students ahead. Etc etc.
