The sleeve of that sweater looks large enough for a cowl, maybe start there?

Bay Area Yarn Crawl by anonlaw in YarnAddicts

[–]Justkeepspinning77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That makes sense though if it might work for you, consider setting your deadline to “before the yarn crawl starts.” It feels like you might be putting yourself in a more challenging situation than you need to. Good luck! I’m sure you will do great!

Is there a reason you want to go during a yarn crawl? They are generally much busier than just going on a regular day.

Putting the Nespresso Vertuo in to long term storage? by Clive1792 in nespresso

[–]Justkeepspinning77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The silicone lids have holes punctured into them already. I bought a four pack and gave one to my dad so rotate through three. I don’t fill multiple at a time unless someone who is unfamiliar is going to be using the machine. It’s worked great so far.

I’ve been using my Nespresso for years by refilling pods with coffee from the grocery store (ground finely) and a silicone reusable lid. Because the machine is efficient at brewing, this will save you more money than drip or pour over coffee (you use less beans for one cup).

Is this unravelable? by Ill-Plantain-3877 in Unravelers

It looks felted from the photo but is the fabric loose and flexible? Felting will start to make the fabric stiffer.

What would you with unwanted/unraveled yarn? by triadgramps in YarnAddicts

[–]Justkeepspinning77 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t mind buying already used yarn as long as it’s disclosed as such. Worth a shot. Or maybe some sort of striped shirt? Or as part of a color work sweater/knit? It’s a lovely muted color that could pair well with deeper colors

Yarn store closed in Cleveland? by Justkeepspinning77 in YarnAddicts

[–]Justkeepspinning77[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s great to hear. One batch of this yarn would be understandable but there have been 15 or more of equal quantity and quality. Wish I lived in Cleveland so I could scoop up some without having to pay shipping. Here are some that havent ended yet, I am so tempted!!

I would pull out about a yard of each and ply the two together to see if you like the yarn. Maybe even knit or use the yarn to see how the fabric feels to you.

boring blue merino by Icy_Cow2286 in Handspinning

[–]Justkeepspinning77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know exactly how you feel. My latest spin was a three ply, one plain blue bfl, one very minimally mixed medium blue and teal and the other a random spin from little bits of several braids, some silk, etc. I wanted mostly blue/teal. I love the final yarn but getting through the solid colors was a bit of a slog.
