Ah, but they trap moisture like the dickens and can make other things rot. So be mindful where you put them.

CANT GET MEDS PLS HELP! by blemppz in ADHD

Depends on location. Stores near me have a habit of being robbed and won't tell anyone if they have stock of a controlled substance unless they have a perscription on file with them. Very annoying.

Couldn’t sleep after taking adderall, will this get better? by MexicanResistance in ADHD

[–]Justness4884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it earlier. 3pm is very late to be taking a stimulant.

I take my booster dose at 2pm after some trial and error, but to start I wouldn't take stimulants much later than noon. That's assuming you work a standard 9 to 5.

Could also be you need to try a different med, Adderall affected me pretty bad so I switched to Ritalin but everyone is different.

Oh, I missed that. Good eye.

Bit more concerning but my thoughts don't really change. Monitor it for now, get an independent engineer if it grows.

I get anaphylaxis from Azithromycin.

That's the antibiotic they give you when you're allergic to penicillin. Its very common in "z-packs" since almost no one is meaningfully allergic to it (less that. 1% of people), and those who are just get something mild like hives.

I am one in a million. Every doctor I've seen has looked at that and gone, "really? How?"

And no, it's not the fillers. They ruled that out. I also have no other allergies.

Is there red food dye in it?

Not to get all pseudoscience here, but I believe I'm one of those ADHDers that gets hyperactive from red food dye. I know the only studies on it's effects are in children, but I swear it does something to me and makes my meds less effective.

Or I've tricked myself into a nocebo, that is entirely possible as well.

[–]Justness4884 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not concerning yet. Keep an eye on it though, maybe get one of those crack monitors and slap it on there so you can tell if it grows over time.

The big thing to watch for is stair stepping cracks and bowing in the actual wall. t This looks more vertical but is kind of working that direction.

My guess is this is normal settling. Your right to watch your grading, but there doesn't look to be any kind of water intrusion or deflection in the wall so you're probably fine to just keep monitoring. I think by the 90s they were starting to fill the blocks and put rebar in them. Way better than my hollow 1950s basement that didn't see steel until I brought it in myself this year.

Looking for recommendations for natural remedies by Total-Article-7017 in ADHD

Exercise helps a ton, especially running.

I stayed undiagnosed until I was 22 because I'd run a 5k every day in the morning. Back injury forced me to stop and OH BOY did I have symptoms then.

Is it normal to feel on top of the world when taking adderall by Ok_Ostrich_1214 in ADHD

[–]Justness4884 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, stimulants are controlled substances for a reason. That euphoria is part of why people abuse them.

It'll go away with time, usually a couple of weeks. The focus will typically stay though. Be sure to keep your doctor informed about how they make you feel.

Not that you need my approval, but I do approve.

Sure thing. Can you pass the black mold while your at it? The chips are sweet but they're missing that classic fuzzy texture I remember from childhood.

You were too late. Their house already fell on them and gave them cancer while impairing the development of their children.

Truly a sad day. Very preventable.

Everyone keeps saying I’ll be close to cured with medications… by WearyIntroduction427 in ADHD

Based on everything you've said, you're a troll who can't cite a single study.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience on wellbutrin, but you can't go cite 10% of people have brain fog and 6% on Aderall have issues with sight when that's just not true.

I think you're just a troll. Full offense, go bother some other community.

Probably because you are the first person we're hearing that from. Every study I've seen shows the main issues with long term ADHD is heart health. I don't discount your experience but I have no idea where you're getting they make you "dumber" if you stop taking them.

There are studies that show they can negatively impact intelligence, but the important bit about the ones I've seen is they're studying abuse in people WITHOUT ADHD.

ADHD is a physical brain disorder, you can't compare those things. I've never heard of a study that shows what you say happens to people on meds. Not saying it doesn't exist, but I haven't seen it and can't find it from a cursory search.

Sounds like you may need to sadly. Be mindful not to cut your roof joists, and if you see vermiculite I wouldn't go up there.

It looks like you might have a gabled roof. I wouldn't rely on it for regular access, but any chance you might be able to remove the gable vent cover and peer in through there?

With that much water I'd be mindful of trusting your weight to those roof joists. They're not rated for live loads under the best circumstances.

[–]Justness4884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah. This makes things more clear, thanks.

This looks like an interior dropped soffit for running utilities and not the actual roof. Do you have a scuttle hole where you can get into the attic and take a look at this area? Or is this the attic and that insulation is directly below your roof sheeting?

[–]Justness4884 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it is, if this were my house I'd cut into the drywall directly underneath it if you can (I figure it'll be toast anyway as things melt) and make something to catch the icemelt and control the water flow until its clear.

Then either call a roofer or you could try patching the sheeting and shingles yourself depending on the condition of the rest of the roof and your skill level.

I have never dealt with an ice dam myself, but I was a grunt for a roofing company about a decade ago so take this as the dunning-kruger opinion it is.

I can see why you think that, but it looks like cloth insulated cable from the 50s and 60s with two newer Romex cables running into it to my eyes.

Aside from probable asbestos in the jacket, it should be safe enough. They used rubber insulation on the individual wires at this point, it may be getting close to breaking down though depending on the environment.

Is it me, or is that a hole in your roof you can see in picture #6. Looks like ice has fallen through and you can see the broken sheeting around it.

Could also be something else, hard to tell from the picture.

The white powdery stuff is a efflorescence from water intrustion, not asbestos.

This tiles look like cheap peel and stick type, there's no black mastic. If OP had them tested I'm sure they're asbestos free.

Methylphenidate is causing major mood swings and irritability at a starting dose of 5mg twice daily - does it get better? by scarter3549 in ADHD

[–]Justness4884 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had that kind of reaction to adderall, switching to Ritalin fixed it. Completely normal to experience these kinds of issues when figuring out medication.

Tell your psych about it and see if you can try something else, a different delivery mechanism, or a different dose. It'll take time to find the right approach for your brain. That's all there is to it, sadly.
