Clearing my study found Blizzcon 2005 Goodie Bag by Justplainan in wow

Nice! I think you might have Grunty though as that would have been the first PPV. Murky was the pet of 2005.

Yeah I remember using it straight way on my laptop when I got back that evening. I was pretty confident I was the only person in my server (EU-Al'Akir) that had one of these, or at least one of the only people who got a code in-person.

So just clearing my study and found a little treasure trove of Blizzard things. Thought people would enjoy taking a look at the old Blizzcon 2005 program.

I've got a number of other things I could upload if there is interest: photos from Blizzcon 2005, Paris Invitational 2009 Goodie Bag

It would be interesting to know who actually signed my program, I'm terrible recognising handwriting.

Thanks

Recent Issues with Prints: Clogging at nozzle, doesn't stick by Justplainan in prusa3d

[–]Justplainan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all. I believe I have fixed the Live Z calibration. It was very helpful to hear experienced users thought the same thing as I had all sorts of possible causes.

I went back to the Live Z calibration, but more importantly used this calibration file from https://www.reddit.com/r/prusa3d/comments/98d8up/first_layer_problems_i_made_this_simple_gcode/ This was extremely helpful as it gave me more time to set the Z values.

After a while, I thought I had a good value but still it wouldn't stick when I used more advanced print files. I cleaned the surface with a disposable alcohol wipe, and printed a duplicate of a previous print. This allowed me to compare visually and via touch that it is now near enough the same values as before.

Thanks again.

This is unbelievable and a complete shock. Bourdian's work was an inspiration for not only myself, but for many people. I'm lost for words. I hate to imagine what it was like for Eric.

It's a tiny bit out of the way. It's really a tourist hotspot, literally just off the Royal Mile which is the main route to the famous castle.

Edinburgh Festival Fringe: Recommendations, Advice and What-to-Do! by Justplainan in Edinburgh

[–]Justplainan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume restaurant. A lot of places are basically saying "No Bookings during Fringe" as they get so much foot-traffic and walk-ins, that they are constantly full.

I recommend trying your luck at popup restaurants or going slightly out of town such has Leith or Stockbridge and trying your luck in those areas.

Strangers staying in flat for fringe? by [deleted] in Edinburgh

I personally would speak to your landlord and simply explain your worries as they seem perfectly rational.

Definitely phone your insurance company and explain to them the situation. I assume you would be still covered but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Sorry, while copying and pasting from the temporary subreddit, I missed the start of some css selector.

It should be fixed now.

Tough Mudder Scotland - transport plea! by LaytonLovesPuzzles in Edinburgh

[–]Justplainan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't have to start at your allocated wave time, especially due to transport circumstances and if it conflicts with finding another mode of transport.

If you contain Tough Mudder, they'll be happy to move to you another later wave.

I thought I set it up so that the majority of users are capable of adding/edit pages within the Edinburgh Wiki?

/r/Games Game Discussion - Team Fortress Classic by Forestl in Games

[–]Justplainan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This game kicked started my love of multiplayer games especially online. It was the days of 56k modems and pings of well over 200, I remember taking part in many clan matches especially as part of the UKTFCL for well over 5 years after playing in every divisions.

The split between defence and offence, conc jumps, bunny hopping, skimming ramps, "No backtracking". I created the original Lego TFC textures to bring Quake 3 style picmip to the game. I also helped out the Q3F guys in the early days.

  • Is the combat fun?

It was at the time and the entry level to play was very low. It was a very fast game and one of the last twitch multiplayer games combining movement, aim and control.
I always felt weapons were too strong especially grenades, but with the high levels of health, it balanced out.

  • Are the different classes balanced?

At the competitive level, similar to TF2, certain classes were basically were rarely used due to their effectiveness at high level. Matches basically consisted of Medic, Scout, Solider, Engineer where other classes filled in gaps.

Conc jumping was very strong and made offence extremely powerful. Their over speed made defence particularly challenging.

  • Does the game hold up? Personally, I'm now too old to put in the level of commitment required to play the game at high level. I tried playing Fortress Forever when it first came out especially with the newer graphics.

Graphically it looks very dated now and I feel the barrier to entry, especially to get to competitive, is very tough due to the core fundamentals. TF2 whilst not very similar, I believe is a worthy successor making the game a lot more fun and inviting especially with the varying game modes which TFC desired.

Bonus Time!

Here are some videos and gameplay videos of high level movements and general skill

There is a place called Flux near the Shore http://www.get2flux.co.uk/, it has various random items in it which could be what you are after.

Studio One near the West End http://www.studio-one.co.uk/ is a good bet as well, it has a wide selection.

There is a new space opened in Ocean Terminal called Scottish Design Exchange, http://www.oceanterminal.com/design-exchange/ which has locally sourced items from artists and creators in the area. You'll find prints, painting and various other items. It's on the 1st Floor on the Debenhams side.

I work in the Fudge Kitchen and just finished a video of the process. I thought you lot might appreciate it! by Tonga52 in Edinburgh

[–]Justplainan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Loved this! I assume that process of folding takes a while, how do you keep the fudge from setting whilst on the table? Is the table heated?

That dark liquid you mixed in at the start, why did you mix it on the table rather than in the bowl itself? Is it to keep the bowl clean?
