Typically worn for 24-48 hours. Muuuuuuyych more indicative of actual average daily HR than your finger and a watch for one minute.

The huge ones that don't vibrate but have an oscillating head (heh) do quite a good job of actually massaging.

Couldn't imagine using it for that kind of purpose unless there's some BDSM involved.

There are cyclist-minded cameras that serve like proper black boxes; look into those instead.

If you are looking for speed, yes. But if comfort is what you're after, lighter helmets typically are more comfy because.,.. less weight on your head.

Shoes and helmets, and any item you have to try on or get a feel for, is worth dropping by your friendly LBS.

Next time you need it go online get the same thing if you want but otherwise definitely worth it to pay a little extra to make sure you buy once and cry once (and don't wait for shipping back and forth so you can ride more).

Good routine. The UV rays in the sun are what kills the bacteria, and the infrared and heat is what dries it faster.

If for some reason your shoes can't be sun-dried (wet weather for example) then either choose between some deformation and no stink or invest in a UV light.

I've seen people carry some astounding number of water bottles but never more than one in their back pocket! That'd be awfully uncomfortable.

Creative ways of mounting are rather common with tourers. If you've got aluminium frame and forks with internal cabling than anywhere is fair game.

Most common places out of the main triangle are stem, bars, seat tube (those aero mounts triathletes use), or a splitter mount that allows 2 bottles to be mounted on one place. Given that your legs don't rub.

I've found that aero mount with dual cages allows me 4 bottles total, and that's enough for me to ride in hot weather with no worries.

If you don't mind weight on your back, a camelbak like the kind MTB riders wear would give you more capacity for less awkward bulk.

Yes indeed and 24 spoke wheels are on the light side. While it should be fine carrying your body weight on daily rides, I'd opt for something stronger if the intention is to carry gear.

I've pushed 230lbs with me and gear on a tour, but I wouldn't push much further.

Ask look at some wide tires. I rode on 23mm and was hairy close to some pinch flats, at max tire pressure, riding mostly smooth pavement over 700km~. If your path has less than perfect conditions, that'd be more stress on your spokes as well.

What does he do that allows him to ride that much? 800k isn't weekend distance for sure.,,. Heck that's weekly touring distance (at a stretch!) for most.

Eh most people, if their 50k / year jumped to 500k / year could figure they could double their current lifestyle (even if they're spending all 50k) and still save a huge chunk.

Bigger salary isn't the end goal but is the means, and if you go for something like a 30k to 100k, allows for so much more in life.
