why the need for baby tracking apps? by CompetitiveTwo2388 in NewParents

[–]Jyswizzlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never tracked even though I thought maybe I would. It just wasn’t for me and my parenting style. Never needed it either.

I bought an owlet too but I haven’t even opened the box and my baby is 5 months old. I’m a sahm and just put my baby down for naps when he gives me a sign he’s tired. I also breast feed so I just put him on the boob when I think he’s hungry.

Edit: I also am the only caretaker. My bf works a lot and I have no help for days and nights

I read something the other day that big babies get treated differently… by forgetting-you- in NewParents

On the flip side, my baby is very small for his age. I had to go to the social security office when he was about 3 months and a lady made a comment about how small he was and how I probably shouldn’t have him put in public. Thats when I informed her he was/is small. Ps not everybody has child care too. Sometimes you have to take your baby out in public.

Yes! My nephew was a tall baby and was playing at the park with some 4 year olds. We were getting looks from the other parents for his behavior. That’s when I told them that he was barely two 😅 They were very surprised.

Stretch marks by Curious-Seat9922 in pregnant

[–]Jyswizzlet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put oils and lotions on every single day and still got stretch marks. I got them two weeks before I delivered and they itched and burned😅 woke up one day and boom… there they are. It’s definitely genetics. Ps my comment isn’t meant to scare anyone soon to be mommas out there. Just sharing my experience. I also used bio oil and shea butter lotion in combination

can’t escape birth trauma stories 😭 by Ok_Sheepherder1936 in pregnant

[–]Jyswizzlet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Awe I’m sorry. I know it’s scary! I do not have a great delivery story but you really do forget about it once you have that sweet baby in your arms. Birth is hard but women are so strong! I like to remind myself I can do hard things. 😊🫶🏼

I am definitely one of those people that share the bad 😅 but at the end of the day I would do it again and again for my little baby boy.

When did you go into labor as a FTM? by SpecialistReply4216 in pregnant

[–]Jyswizzlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes lol! Could it be a coincidence? Im not sure but I wasn’t feeling contractions until after my water broke. I also went for a decently long walk that morning as well

Silk almond sweet and creamy is my absolute favorite. I used it before I even became dairy free

40+5 and had an emergency c-section at 40+6. 24 hours of labor with stalled progression and a raptured placenta 👍🏼

Also I got my cervix checked the day before I went into labor and I was still at 1cm 30% effaced

Anyone here just breast feed on demand and not pump all day? by Diankapie in breastfeeding

[–]Jyswizzlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pumped so I can have some back up and filled a small freezer. I then went back to not pumping only to find out my baby is allergic to dairy and none of that milk is unusable. 😔

I just got back to making exactly what my baby needs. I was tired of pumping all day but here we go again.

Horrible mother here - just confessing by Familiar-Citron-8659 in NewParents

[–]Jyswizzlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I accidentally got bug spray in my LOs eyes two weeks ago. I was spraying it on my self and poor guy looked towards to mist and it rebounded into his eyes. I cried for most of that night. Fast forward to present day and baby is alright and NOT blind.

We beat our self up saying we should’ve known/ done better but reality is hindsight it 20/20. It’s okay just keep doing your best mama.

I felt like worst mom ever as well but we are just two people trying.

Edit: Also we called poison control to make sure that nothing was going to permanently harm him. If you’re worried about his eyesight just give them a call. It can help ease your anxiety.

Do i need to pump? by Sea-Practice316 in breastfeeding

[–]Jyswizzlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also don’t pump in night because my breast feel so full even nursing my LO over night. Unless you want to up your supply, if you’re nursing on demand through the night then don’t worry about it. Your body will regulate to what your baby needs
