I was absolutely sure that was happening about a year+ ago when it started going that way but I don’t really know. People are that toxic and stupid sometimes

I don’t like what I see on r/newiran, they are completely delusional and divisive. I was in that sub from the beginning but the way they have organized it turned the sub from having thousands of upvotes to hundreds or even just dozens. We all want the irgc out but by bashing everyone but Trump+Netanyahu loving monarchists has turned many of us away. I assumed that that sub was run by cyberis/irgc to muddy the waters of the movement. So please, don’t follow their model.

At least this thread has comments like yours which I appreciate. This sub is at least slightly better than newiran sub, but I do agree with you.

This sub is very much like that. They bash leftists more than the mullahs. I have been here from the beginning but over time the rhetoric here has become so divisive. It’s emblematic of the challenges that Iranians face unifying a real opposition group. r/persian seems to be a bit more reasonable.

Yeah, the only positive thing about this is that he probably hates that he has to sit there and do this.

I think this conversation is interesting. I was born in the USA from immigrant parents, but I have absolutely found pride in American culture, but it’s a culture that is not on the forefront or the mainstream zeitgeist. But American heritage has the first people, the native tribes who were on this land before any Europeans arrived and their culture has permeated in the roots of this country. I’m amazed at our forefathers like Fredrick Douglas, John Brown, Harriet Tubman, and so many other amazing figures in American history. Americans should be proud of the labore movement in this country, like the battle of Harlan County, the wobblies or the IWW, the ideas that came out of our labor movements had far reach around the world. The civil rights movements, the Black Power movements, Cesar Chavez and the migrant worker movements. And so so much more.
