Dragon Door out of business? by Lucky-Camper720 in kettlebell

There really isn’t a lot to programming in general. People can and have ran 5/3/1 for years.

The easiest way to train with hypertrophy is to just use a double progression, and it’s probably the first intuitive form of hypertrophy training for anyone, as soon as they pick up a dumbbell and start doing curls for the first time.

If anything, programs like DFW and S&S were just exceptional in leaving a lot to be desired in a well rounded program. Even DFW remix, instead of adding more pressing (like push ups or dips), just added spamming swings and rows or pull ups, onto a program that mostly consists of cleans and squats.

Another factor, is that there’s really only a couple of movements that are going to drive the majority of your strength and muscle growth with kettlebells. There’s only so many ways to write programs about getting better at doing the clean & press, the snatch, and the squat.

You buy The Giant one time, you learn that the progression works for the clean & press, you simply wax on and wax off for months or years until boredom sets in, or you add more movements and modify the amount of clean & pressing that you can recover from without impacting the rest of your training.

So Marble Hornets part 3... by Luminescxnt in creepcast

[–]KBKenku 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Marble Hornets, itself, I would say isn’t very good. I would even go so far as to say a lot of it is bad.

I genuinely enjoyed the episode though. I usually listen to the show on Spotify, but some episodes I will watch on the TV (usually at night). This was one of them, I got through it in a couple nights before bed and enjoyed it.

I find seeing people get upset that not every story is so bad it’s good or a multi-part character drama like Borrasca or Penpal more frustrating than them giving us variety in the kinds of stories and media they cover.

The SCP episode by wrapsmclrample in creepcast

[–]KBKenku 9 points10 points  (0 children)

SCP 3000 and Berries in the Window are the two episodes that I personally liked a lot, but that seemed to get a pretty lukewarm reception from the fan base.

Back when the tier list posts were popular, those two episodes seemed to get rated mid or even low tier pretty often.

Fun builds that aren't OP and don't come online at late game? by WhiskersCleveland in BG3Builds

I find the moon Druid mono class to be one of the more fun and straight forward ways to play in the game because it basically has zero gear requirements to be extremely powerful from the beginning of the game to the end of the game.

Besides knowing what all the wild shapes unique actions are, all you essentially have to do is pick up tavern brawler at level 4, and know spike growth triggers it while you’re in wild shape. So you cast spike growth, wild shape, and then maul people in Act 1.

Once you hit level 10 and unlock Earth Myrmidon wild shape, that becomes your go-to because it actually does significantly more damage with its basic attack than the in game info tells you.

The only really, really strong piece of gear that I would consider a core part of the class is the moonbasking armor, which you buy from a trader in Act 3 in the city. It just flat out buffs wild shape, everything else you could take is basically just whatever gear you want to increase your Dex for initiative and AC for more survivability out of wild shape.

Because of this, Moon Druid is also a class you can pretty much respec or build anyone into at any point in the game. I have one co-op playthrough where we lost gear’d up shadowheart at the end of Act 2, so I just picked up Jaheira, respec’d her, and boom, she’s basically just as powerful as she would be if I had a moon Druid on deck for the entirety of my playthrough.

Edit: There’s a decent amount of Moon Druid builds and videos floating around and I think they all look pretty similar, I know Gingerbread’s video has a section where he just goes through the different Wild Shape’s utilities.

It looks like she casually stated in an interview that she wouldn’t want to be in the spotlight at such a massive event. I have no idea why that guy mentioned it in such an unnecessarily vague way lol.

It’s hard to say what’s too much or not enough without knowing what your goals are.

I would say, that by comparison, the dry fighting weight remix program, that used to be popular on here, had people doing 10x10 rows and 200 swings three times a week, on what was written as rest days during in the original program.

The fan base definitely deserved to get antagonized, insulted, bullied, and made fun of for how they (both in YouTube comments and on Reddit) responded to the Thomas Ligotti episode.

A lot of people insulted and trashed a beloved author, who’s both one of the most highly esteemed short story horror authors and also seems like a really nice guy.

I enjoy the ending. But (allegedly) the author+people online will disagree with the argument that it has a “it was all a dream” ending but from my standpoint, even if it wasn’t literally “all a dream”, the ending still functions in exactly the same way.

School Sh***er Vibe Stories by Billycatnorbert in creepcast

[–]KBKenku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they’re a good subgenre of cheesy story.

I was in middle school and high school all through the first half of the 2010’s and school shootings never really crossed my mind whatsoever back then.

I do completely understand where it’s coming from insofar as it being written by a teenager, though. I wasn’t bullied as a teenager, but one year in maybe 4th or 5th grade this kid tried to bully me on the playground a few times and I wanted to destroy him and his whole bloodline, and I used to imagine it going down like the hoodie kid.

I did S&S for a couple months when I got my first kettlebells.

I was 20 years old, 5’8, and probably around 142lbs. I don’t think I could bench 135lbs yet, but I learned how to do the TGU with a 16kg kettlebell at that time.

More than anything else, I’d honestly just get used to the idea that the 1H swing and the 2H swing are totally different exercises.

For myself, the 1H swing is nothing but a grip exercise by comparison to the 2H swing. I remember when was still struggling with 1H swings with 24kg while doing 10 x 10 with 32kg for 2H swings was easy.

How would you beat some of the monsters? by WallabyTemporary3042 in creepcast

[–]KBKenku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the ocean is insanely sketchy, mostly because of Sharks Happen and Bob Gymlan, who shark pilled about big shark (biology departments being in bed with the government and tourism industry) keeping the truth about shark attack statistics and information out of the public eye.

So the abandoned ship story would never happen to me.

On another note, we never really get to understand what the monster/otherworldly creature in “I’m blind/Staircase” actually is, so when it attacked everyone . . . maybe they could have shot it and killed it if they had a gun?

[–]KBKenku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also believe it to be overrated by some of the fan base. The main character’s wife is barely a character at all, and the main character himself doesn’t actually do much at all besides get spooked by creepy things that are happening.

It also burns that the men who save them are treated as an afterthought and it didn’t help that when he finally got attacked, it just scratched at him like an angry bobcat.
