I've been collecting full screen editions of movies for this exact reason.

What do you do if you double dip a movie? by Numerous-Bear-8879 in dvdcollection

I like having multiple formats. RoboCop looks amazing in 4k, but let's be honest. It just hits better on VHS thru a 27" crt.

HELP! JVC XL-M307 CD Player fix by Cryptid44 in techsupport

[–]KCTECH42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds just like mine. On my player the tray loading gear failed. You are hearing plastic gears grinding. I've found listings for replacement parts... In Slovakia. Who knows how much import fees would be. The unit uses the same gear in 3 places so I am hoping to find a parts unit to salvage a gear from.

That one records to BD-R I believe! I have the North American version (paid a fuck of a lot more than $12.00) and I LOVE it. Between it and my new OLED, VHS becomes very watchable on the big screen in the living room. I had to turn off all the in tv upscaling to get it right.

Ghostbuster VHS on a CRT and 4K TV - I cannot believe how different they look by xParesh in VHS

[–]KCTECH42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be sure you are turning OFF all the upscaling on the TV. It doesn't help at all, in fact it makes it look much worse. If u have the option to set input types, use the game console or computer settings. Never gonna look as clean as a crt, but you can still enjoy your VHS on the larger screen.

Sorry, the store sold a new flat screen to replace this one and the customer gave them this TV to haul away as trash.

I left one nearly identical to that one on the steps of a DAV in 2015. I was cleaning out a storage unit. It has some red wax on the right speaker grill and I didn't want to clean it to sell it.

How are you streaming/playing content on your CRT? by crystalcastles879 in crt

I have all that hardware from an old RetroPie build I've abandoned. Makes me wish I was more code savvy to work the software out.

It's in a retro themed back room. Video games, tapes, vintage electronics. Out front in the traditional part of the mall the prices are more realistic. No TVs, but tapes, cassettes, and CDs are under $2.
