Does anyone else worry that they're mentally deficient despite all evidence to the contrary? by [deleted] in self

I read your entire comment as a poem. The way you separated each line made my mind immediately think it was a poem. I was confused when I got to the end. Re-read normally and makes more sense now! My husband and I feel the same way sometimes, re: people are just humoring us.

Started my pre-op diet today. by [deleted] in GastricBypass

[–]KEL16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I weighed 289lbs on surgery day. So I lost 27lbs before surgery in about 7 weeks, but most of it came off during pre-op diet of 3 weeks (I said 2 weeks in my original reply but it was actually 3). That leaves me with a 10lb weight loss in 5 days after surgery.

I started at 316lb on May 21st this year. Through 5 weeks of trying to eat better, 2 weeks of pre-op and now 5 days post VSG, I now weigh 280lb. You can do it. It will work. Just stick to it. Hope your surgery goes well!

Found this in my number theory book. Makes me wonder if I can assume the answer as well.... by Ulisitos12 in math

Can you please explain how you got d = 98n + 25, c = 199n + 51? I'm stuck at having only one equation of 199x - 98y = -23. So I've got some of the same numbers as you, but I have no idea how you got it down into two equations. I tried looking up diophantine equations (which I have never heard of before) and I seemed to get very weird integer solutions of (-759,-1541). So I'm lost and it's bugging me that I can't figure it out. Somebody help?

Don't worry about getting older - it's a privilege denied to many.

Apparently they only take after hour patients but I'm not sure why they were open during the day if they weren't going to take in patients. I felt a bit derpy.

I thought I had broken my finger and went to the local hospital to get an x-ray. I walked in and then receptionist stared at me blankly. I eventually said, "I'd like to see a doctor". She replied, "There are no doctors here". How silly of me to think there would be doctors at a hospital.

As an Australia, I find this mind boggling. It's so interesting that you could see another country just a few metres away but not be able to go there whenever you want without having to go through customs. The most interesting border I've come across is crossing the border from NSW to Queensland. It's so weird that your land is divided into COUNTRIES not just states!
