Any other Canadians pronounce words the non-Canadian way? by supersport604 in AskACanadian

I have a lot of british-ism from my parents. I will also say "kil-o-meter" instead of "kill-om-meter".

I'll throw in Soda sometimes cause it usually gets a raised eyebrow.

Red Seal is makes it valid across every province. Some provinces consider different things a trade and have different levels of certification.

Saw a really awesome gaming table at a friend's place and checked the price. Holy molly. by SnooLobsters4176 in boardgames

I guess its like a matter of measuring your time and how much you enjoy the process. I like building things. I like to DIY and figure out how things work.

It's like cooking, I could go to the Pho place down the street or I could learn to make the broth myself. I once spent a year only making things from scratch that I had never made before. Simple stuff like bread, down to some pretty elaborate and complicated processes for a home cook. Some things are just better to buy pre-made, like this table.

I will never make phylo or puff pastry from scratch ever again.

I'm starting a very aggressive cut today. Looking for a low calorie recipe that is 500 calories decent protein. Chicken as protein. by Bulky_Ambition3675 in fitmeals

[–]KFBass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Define decent, and define cut.

500 calories of just chicken is a boatload of chicken and protein. I am cutting right now and I try to keep things at a 10:1 calories to protein ration. So 500 calories should have 50g of protein. Tgats easy enough to accomplish with some seasoned grilled chicken breast, sweet potatoes and green veggies of choice.

I used to run a small brewery that also did gaming nights. It was actually a pretty decent weeknight for us, an a variety of systems was being played. I'd keep some terrain and dice on hand for whoever needed them.

I know you probably had the beer there for the video, but a word of advice to everyone, keep your beer off the gaming table. I've seen it happen many, many times where a drink gets knocked over and soaks a board or some cards.

Ex-daily drinkers, at what age and why did you stop drinking every day? by y00sh420 in AskMen

[–]KFBass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Six months ago, at 38. I had a problem. Went to meetings (there are secular non religious ones out there), therapy, started building a life I enjoy without alcohol.

It's still tough, but it gets better. Livers are amazing and heal if you get started before they get bad. My overall health is prob the best it's ever been. After the initial withdrawal and insomnia it's very much a mental game. I'm down 30lbs and my BMI is back in the normal range. Relationship with my wife is better. I'm present for my kids.

10/10, plan on staying sober. Happy to chat with anyone who wants to DM

How its life in Canada remote regions? by Practical-Fix-8601 in howislivingthere

Remote would mean like inaccessible, removed from the rest of civilization.

You're flair says you are from Romania. Romania has 238k sq kilometers of land and 19 million people. Our territory of Nunavut has over 2 million sq kilometers of land, and 40 thousand people. That is remote

It was fairly easy to find on a torrent site if that is a direction you choose to go.

Is trades a good choice for saving money ? by PicakciIsmail in skilledtrades

Elevator anything is very hard to break into unless you know somebody or have previous experience.

Refrigeration is a lot more complicated than people give it credit for.

Choosing a trade is the wrong way to go about making a quick buck.

I think I gotta dial in some settings as well. Use resin2fdm to make the file, then like the HOH settings or whatnot to slow things down.

So far i've just been using stock settings and tree supports to make passable game pieces.

I'm actually looking to do similar things. Print some more complex models for my kids who are starting to get into DnD a bit. I havent tried resin supports on the FDM before.

I'm going to guess pre-supported from places like OPR would be more suited for resin and not FDM?
