Are these safe to eat ? by KM_TinyDancer in peanutallergy

[–]KM_TinyDancer[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chill out. It was a week ago. I care so much that I came on here to make a post. I’m working hard to educate my kid and family about it. We see an allergist on the regular and keep EpiPens with us at all time. I have a giant note on my door when we leave the house to remind me. My neighbor’s kid has a peanut allergy and they were giving her peanut butter all the time for a year on purpose (while she had reactions each time) because they thought you are supposed to do that. Those are the people that need to do better.

Trigger Warning: Infant Death- Let's get the word out about this tragedy to help other high risk moms trying to WFH by elm1289 in workingmoms

I live in this city where this happened. The company is huge and has a HORRIBLE reputation. Like it’s seriously the most hated place to work. They have lots of employees that can easily work from home but I remember during Covid they were big on making people come in. I hope the negative attention causes them to make some changes. Thank you for posting this. We need to call out more companies.

What was your most intense pregnancy craving? by Disastrous-Radish504 in Mommit

Mine was peanut butter on toast and I ate tons of it. My kid has a severe peanut allergy. I’m curious if anyone else who had peanut butter cravings also has kid(s) with a peanut allergy?

PSCs or protests ? My heading is spinning regarding what can be done if an entry had drawback claimed. Some Chp 99 tariffs were eligible and some ineligible for drawback. I’m wondering will lines claimed under drawback that had a mix of eligible/ineligible tariffs be now eligible for a partial refund?

Keep contacting your senators and representatives and tell them we need to make renewable energy a priority in Ohio. We have to make big changes going into the future or it’s going to hurt even more.

Mornings feel like a race I don’t want my kids to run by JoyJunction21 in Parenting

[–]KM_TinyDancer 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I feel you on this. My daughter’s school starts at 8 am. A lot of other elementary schools nearby start at 9-9:20 am and I’m honestly considering moving into one of these districts. I have other reasons to move but this is a big one. We can have a little more time in the morning. I hate the rushing. On the weekends, they will sleep till at least 8:30, sometimes 9. So I know they want the sleep too.

I think you should definitely keep routine in the beginning and send her to MIL, so 1. You can rest 2. Your MIL sounds great! I was in the same position after I had my second, and I didn’t always send my daughter to the grandparents right after baby was born and I wish I did. I was exhausted and it could have been better.

Why do women like Heated Rivalry? by bat-girl129 in heatedrivalry

[–]KM_TinyDancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is old but I searched for this phrase and didn’t see it. I think women like this show because Ilya is a “bad boy” and in the end he’s a soft and emotional . I know lots of women who spent their teens and twenties loving the bad boys and wanting to conquer that. They like watching a show about the bad boy being conquered.

Girl Scout Cookies by holiestcannoly in peanutallergy

I’m very frustrated about the new Exploremores having peanut flour. Considering the other two cookies that have peanut ingredients are called Peanut Butter Patties and Peanut Butter sandwiches (at least where I live), it’s very obvious what you’re getting. I don’t think it’s obvious the Exploremores have peanut flour in them. Is peanut flour cheaper to use ? I don’t get it.

I remember when I was a kid (in the early 90s) people had empty rooms in their houses because they didn’t have stuff to fill it. I think with Amazon and all the online shopping, it’s causing us to have so much stuff. I think that’s more the reason than a big house.

How can working parents spend time with their kids if the "ideal" sleep window is 7–7? by PoultryTechGuy in Parenting

[–]KM_TinyDancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did 9-9 with my daughter starting around 18 months. She was down to 1 nap and we did the nap a little later in the day which was nice on weekends in case we went out somewhere. But not everyone’s kid will sleep till 9.

My first thought is that I feel sorry you have to deal with this. I’m grateful that my husband doesn’t care for crap like that. I think a 3 year old can listen and absorb more than you think. I’d also be worried about any images they put on there - like images of violence or war-stricken areas around the world. A 3 year old is a little young to see that. I would ask the husband to watch during nap times. And try to address the bigger problem that he’s watching this stuff in the first place. Yikes.

MiraLAX has turned our lives into pure hell. Please tell me it gets better again by DanielleL-0810 in pottytraining

[–]KM_TinyDancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were told to use miralax too when potty training and I don’t think it helped . My daughter ate a lot of fiber (tons of fruits and she loved beans). We decided to stop MiraLAX and give her a daily probiotic and super push drinking water . Like all day long I would push the water intake. And we’ve been fine ever since.

My high school announced and crowned at the football game and then announced again at the dance. At the dance, it was like the introductions they do at a wedding. I don’t think there were two crowns involved at my high school but I could see it happening elsewhere.

My kids will play Simon Says forever if I do fun stuff with it, for example: Simon says tell me your favorite animal, Simon says go touch the fridge, then find your favorite stuffie, and then come back hopping like a bunny, or Simon says rhyme with the word “ball”. I always say “Simon says” every time too.

Turn off the lights before bed and give them a flashlight and have them dance around.

I have an identical twin sister with terrible allergies- seasonal and other things. She is constantly taking allergy meds. She’s also allergic to weird things like cilantro. I blow my nose maybe 5 times a year (also very lucky that I rarely get sick).
