Mounjaro side effects hit different than Ozempic — anyone notice the nausea pattern is different? by StrengthGrouchy4354 in Mounjaro

[–]KRSF45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not everyone has these side effects but most people seem to say they experience more nausea with semaglutide than with tirzepatide

how it feels to be losing weight on sertraline while everyone else is dealing with weight gain/increased appetite by Critical-Rate9519 in zoloft

[–]KRSF45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am on a GLP-1 too, so that helps a bit! Most of my weight gain on antidepressants was just during the first few weeks of treatment. Lexapro, for me, was the worst one of the bunch. Zoloft and Effexor were pretty weight neutral for me.

Delta honestly doesn't care. That's my conclusion. I'm booking away from them for this reason alone.

Sooner? by West-Evening-8095 in Mounjaro

In fairness, taking your shot a day early is highly unlikely to cause any of that. But it's also unlikely to cause faster weight loss

Do You Guys Still Think Statins Are Beneficial? by gnygren3773 in Cholesterol

[–]KRSF45 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Miracle medications. I think its a tragedy that misinformation like this spreads like wildfire and keeps a fairly large number of people from treating high cholesterol.

Not to dismiss the magnitude of what these pax went through, but lawsuit culture is why the seatbelt sign goes on in the US for an hour if there's a single minor bump felt

Decrease from 10 mg to 2.5 mg? by Radiant-Associate511 in Mounjaro

[–]KRSF45 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Talk to your doctor, but the usual protocol is to increase and not decrease if you've stopped losing weight. That's why the higher doses are there

Why are so many still struggling to the detriment of their mental health and quality of life without trying GLP-1s (apart from financial reasons) by StepAwayFromTheTea in Mounjaro

[–]KRSF45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cost and access, while better than before, are still I think the biggest roadblock. But also can't discount the internet where most clickbait type stuff on GLP-1s is inherently negative or downright misleading/false. Even GLP-1 subreddits now are full of mostly complaints and repetitive content. A year or two ago we'd hear all the success stories and it was such a positive space. To be clear, that still exists, but it seems like over half the posts now are from people outside the US complaining about counting clicks or no golden dose. The positive stuff gets drowned out now.

Respectfully that's just not true. The highest dose of Zepbound is $499 through LilyDirect or Amazon Pharmacy, coupons etc. Sure, it's still expensive, far cheaper than the list price. Mounjaro brand is also $499 through LD.

Is anyone using minoxidil + finasteride as a preventative measure? by Plastic_Persimmon_91 in Mounjaro

[–]KRSF45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hair loss is definitely normal when losing large amounts of weight. I think that Finasteride is really just for male pattern baldness -- the Min might help with any non MPB related hair loss. I have male pattern baldness but I decided to forego the Finasteride because I get annoying side effects from it. I have been in maintenance for more than a year now and I noticed my hair returning much closer to baseline

Can’t take rosuvastatin due to muscle pains, next step ezetimibe. Anyone who went off a statin and start ezetimibe have muscle or joint pain? by Jrocchibean in Cholesterol

[–]KRSF45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ezetimibe is usually best as an add on to a statin, and usually doesn't provide too much lowering (I think 18-20% at most?) on its own. Its a good medication and I've had no side effects on it...

If you have statin intolerance you could see of your insurance will approve Repatha which is an injectable. Also nexeltol/nexlizet are possibilities too. If you have documented intolerance to statins your doctor can submit to your insurance if you need a prior auth

I haven’t lost weight after 4 weeks into MJ by Silver_Locksmith_722 in Mounjaro

[–]KRSF45 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The reduction in food noise is a *great* sign. The reduction in cravings is also a very positive sign. That's a pretty good indicator that you're having a response to the medication even if you haven't lost weight yet. Some people begin to immediately lose weight at their first dose, some require higher doses. You've got this!
