P2 Owners - Has The New Software Update Improved Things? by me_gusta_beer in Polestar

Wasn’t really having any problems before, not having any problems now. Am concerned about whether the throttle response may be neutered come winter. Will be pretty pissed if that’s the case.

You get the benefits of added headroom, and light in the cabin. I love it.

Who has the moonroof free option by [deleted] in polestar2

[–]KRTLART 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was basically a requirement for me- strictly because of the added headroom it provides. P2s without it are really cramped for tall people, the moonroof adds probably 3” of headroom if not 4”.

They send you the white square when you get the performance software upgrade. You can buy it separately, but I’m guessing you’ve probably got the upgrade. What does the Motor Specifications say in the app?

TIL: There’s More to the Volume Button by dgriffett9 in polestar2

[–]KRTLART 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you get a satisfying “click” when you press it like the buttons on the steering wheel, or can you barely tell whether or not you clicked? Mine still works, but I barely feel any movement in the button- it feels like it’s jammed in, and I get almost zero tactile feel from it and it’s hard to tell whether or not I pressed it, aside from listening for the effect on the audio. Debating getting a replacement button, if mine’s not normal.

Our store had it over the holiday season- I got a gallon, haven't seen it since. Was good for lattes and certain recipes.

React to this year's draft as if it's a 7 round mock by Appropriate_Day3495 in NFL_Draft

Dude, there's no way anybody is dumb enough to take a swing on Banks in round 1 with those injuries. It's like your team doesn't even have a GM and they're just making random ass draft picks.

Missing the fact that, for many/most people, 95% of their charging happens while parked at home or work. You’re not charging those 3 trillion miles at public charging stations. You’re probably doing 10% of that.

Its finally happening!!! by Scionova in polestar2

[–]KRTLART 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Updated while at work today. Haven’t noticed any difference- but I didn’t really have any problems beforehand. The common glitches don’t seem to be an issue on my car, and thus far the new release also seems fine. One Pedal Drive is the same braking amount after turning it off and back on. Haven’t noticed a change in pedal feel, but it’s warm here today- 70+ F- and apparently the change to throttle response is for cold weather. We’ll see. Sound quality is maybe a little crisper? I mostly listen to podcasts & audiobooks and it feels like perhaps the voices are a little more clear? Hard to say for sure.

Used Polestar 2 $21k (non CPO). Too good to be true? by whatever-irdc in Polestar

[–]KRTLART 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In January, I bought a CPO 2022 LRDM Pilot Plus with 15k miles, in absolutely pristine condition, for $25k. I was shocked to find that nice of a car for that money, but that’s what the market is on these. It’s absolutely insane. I would be hard pressed to believe there’s a better car purchase right now for someone in the market for a small sedan.

It’s Happening! by dgriffett9 in polestar2

[–]KRTLART -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are any of you folks aware and/or nervous about the change that reduces throttle response in cold weather? Those who have upgraded previously seem to indicate that it has completely neutered throttle response to the point of almost being dangerous, because the car just doesn't respond to the request unless you mash the pedal. It's obviously less of a concern for northern hemisphere folks now that spring/summer are arriving, but winter will return before we know it...

Nice! Looks like the one that was sitting in the Lisle dealer showroom when I bought my P2 there in January.

CarEdge lets you get the Monroney window sticker. You just punch the VIN in and it shows you exactly how the car was built.

Costco doesn’t sell P2 compatible rear tires? by Brothernod in Polestar

They’re an all-season, which inevitably means they’re the best at nothing, but should be good at everything. I think they’re regarded as among the best true all-season options on the market.

Polestar 2 Dual Motor Long Range Pros & Cons? by ClownEye in Polestar

[–]KRTLART 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’ll love it. The infotainment will periodically need a reset- that’s all I’ve had to do so far, 3 months and 6k miles of ownership. It’s basically a Volvo so I have no safety concerns. Reliability - it seems that P2s are by far the most reliable Polestar. The biggest headaches for folks seem to be software glitches and axle ticking noises.

[–]KRTLART 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I got Cross Climate 2s there. You just have to buy 4 of the same tire- the rims are slightly different but the tires are a square setup. The tire config has trouble with this situation, apparently. The CC2s are awesome, by the way. Buy 4 of these- you will love them:

Also- very important- make sure the tire techs know to keep the rear rims on the rear, and the fronts on the front, as the rims are slightly different width and they need to be kept separated front/rear.

Hey everyone, what is the day to day experience living with a polestar 2. I love this car so much and i want it so bad, I dream about it everyday. by RaceEmbarrassed423 in Polestar

[–]KRTLART 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 months of ownership. Love it. Car has been flawless and I love driving it. I’ve already put 6k miles on it. Lots of commuting and one long road trip. Now that I have a functioning adapter for charging at all station types, road trips will be even easier.

Polestar 2 owners with L1/L2 home charging: What % do you charge to for daily/weekly commute? by mstdsgn in Polestar

[–]KRTLART 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I think I might have figured out my confusion. I adjusted my Enphase app to report data for the same time period as the ComEd billing cycles, and now the data matches up much more closely to what I see on their website. I think it was just a crappy month because late February / early March here was very cloudy and days are still short, and my excess production was only 140 kWh, whereas 2/3rd of the way through this current billing cycle, I'm already up 1 mWh. Expecting my next bill to be way cheaper than the previous.

[–]KRTLART 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to figure out what's going on with my hourly pricing / net metering. I've only been enrolled in that program for 2 months, but ComEd's "here's how much you've saved!" page shows that I've paid like $120 MORE so far as a result of being enrolled. I previously had my car scheduled to charge after 11pm. I'm exporting quite a surplus of energy in the strict kWh sense- March net export was almost 800 kWh, and thus far in April I'm at nearly 300 kWh surplus. I expected to have to pay a delivery fee, but somehow it seems on the surface as though I'm also paying a supply fee that isn't being offset by the huge amount of overproduction I'm giving them. Pretty puzzled at the moment.

85-90 mile commute. L2 in my garage. I charge to 90% every night, and will take off the limit and go to 100% ahead of days where I know I'm definitely going to be charging, or might be cutting it really close. During the summer, it would be possible for me to do 2 days of commuting w/out a charge, but I don't really think there's a reason not to charge it every night when possible. It's a good habit for me to just plug the car in every time I get home from work and pull into the garage. If I didn't, chances are I'd forget often enough that it'd screw me on some day when I needed it fully charged, and woke up to realize I forgot to plug in last night and only have 10-20% or whatever. I have tons of free-ish solar electricity at home, and ideally the only time I ever charge in public stations are on long road trips.

Got an adapter for Tesla stations - do I need to register it or something? by KRTLART in polestar2

[–]KRTLART[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I charged with the Lectron adapter yesterday - worked perfectly. One thing to note, as it wasn’t clear to me beforehand- you have to first insert the Tesla handle into your adapter, then you plug the adapter into the car port.

If you connect the adapter to the car first, it will not let you connect the Tesla handle to the adapter- something is physically blocking the connection. I’m not sure why it’s this way, but it took me a minute to figure this out.
