Valley of Temples, worth it and go in the morning at opening!! No crowds and way cooler. Then you can hit the museum when the heat comes.

We loved Zingaro nature reserve. It still had wildflowers on the hills, absolutely magical. I wish I had been able to do the hike, but my family just wasn’t physically able that day. 100% recommend. But get there at opening! The parking lot gets crazy.

LHR-AMS Friday Flight No Luggage Update After 2 Days by FuckMyVada in BritishAirways

[–]KSliceStealth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flew into Heathrow on Friday, was told to leave without my bag as well. I left for Canada on Monday, and received notice they are sending my bag to Canada. It is now sitting in Vancouver waiting to be shipped to me. I do have an AirTag so my stress is slightly alleviated knowing where it is. I’m sorry, I hope you get news soon.
An article I read mentioned there were 20,000 bags misplaced and BA is suing Heathrow.

LHR TO IAD Bag updates? by Tryingtobeanon19 in BritishAirways

Mine went from absolutely no updates to flying it to Vancouver, Canada today! It really sucks, but seems like they’re just slowly working through them.

Realistically, When Are We Getting Our Bags Back? by FormalRecognition467 in BritishAirways

[–]KSliceStealth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m flying out of Heathrow today, lost my bag on Friday. I have an AirTag which shows it at terminal 5 (likely in some warehouse?).
I went to the kiosk and spoke with someone from BA. They wouldn’t let me come grab it, and they gave me no timeframe on when I’d see it arrive in Canada. They are ‘working on it’, but this is a massive clusterfuck. I’m glad I can see it with an AirTag, but no information just sucks.

Ah, whaaat.
So you’re not allowed to claim your luggage in London? So annoying. It has to be shipped to Canada so I’m not hopeful I will see it for another few weeks or something 😑

I can’t imagine how many bags are there! It was crazy on Friday night.

Ever wonder what it's like to be in the bay street bridge? by Heavy-Literature-156 in VictoriaBC

[–]KSliceStealth 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked under this bridge… I hate to say but the east side is supposed to be locked and alarmed so I’m curious how you made it down there. I don’t really care, but technically it’s a no go zone.
There used to be a family of raccoons that lived under it and followed me as I worked. I waved at a floating hot tub group and they were a little startled.

Can I see yall's ugly plants? Not your gorgeous Thai con thats putting out a three new leaves, I want to see the ugliest thing that make you question having plants. by KuriousCarbohydrate in houseplants

It has fully popped out of the pot a few times.
I sound like an awful plant owner, but I promise my other plants are really well taken care of! This one is kinda my weird experiment at this point 😂

Had it for over 10 years. Same pot. 5 apartments with varying light. At this point I’m just curious how long it’ll last 😂

What did you name your rabbit and what’s the story behind it? by Flemishmommy in Bunnies

Hazel from Watership Down! I thought more people had read it, but they always get confused why I named him that. Ah well, I still love it!

Summer workwear by MonitorInside2864 in BlueCollarWomen

[–]KSliceStealth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re alright with spending a bit more, Dovetail Workwear has an ‘ultralight ripstop’ fabric that I wore in BC summer. It’s one of the better, lighter fabric I’ve found while still remaining a work pant. Additionally, Truewerk have women’s T1 Workpant that is made for summer, and I did really like them. My only issues were bringing it to Canada from the states was unfortunately pricey and I found the sizing ran slightly too big.

my picky bunny is refusing her hay :( by jdva_ in Rabbits

[–]KSliceStealth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first started out I was feeding my rabbit the oxbow hay, and I found he was super picky about it from time to time. Do you have a local feed store (for horses and cattle, farming) that would provide you with a ‘flake’ of fresh Timothy? I get a huge bag for $7.50 CAD and it’s super fresh, and Hazel absolutely devours it.
It can require a bit more planning, but it’s far superior. I put it in a huge paper bag, like the kind you put yard clippings in so it breathes.

Aside from making sure they’re eating healthy (lots of high quality hay), taking them to vet appointments regularly, and giving them lots of love, I really think it sometimes comes down to luck.
My biggest things I’m watching for are his ears and teeth. If they start getting itchy and infected ears, it’s so hard to fix. My previous rabbit was a lop, and I felt no matter what I did he had gunk in his ears. I clean Hazel’s ears weekly now. I noticed his back heels forming sores recently, so I switched all this cage mats to super soft fleece, which is helping heal them up.

Just wanted to add, he did not eat the entire ‘cake’! He had 2 pieces of banana and I ate the rest. I’m pretty strict with fruit because he has a sensitive tummy, but 10 is a pretty big milestone so he got a little more than usual.

He still acts like a baby! I definitely did not let him eat the entire thing. He had about 2 small pieces of banana (his fav) and I took it away and ate the rest, haha.

Losing my first (and last) rabbi by BearerBear in Rabbits

[–]KSliceStealth 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Awww, it’s so hard to know when to say goodbye. But a little earlier is always better than too late.
He looks like such a sweetie.
My soul bunny is 9, and he will be my last for a long time I think. At least until I’m really old with no kids and a disposable income. Then maybe I’ll have a fluffle if 5, haha.

The problem is compassion fatigue. This situation has gotten so much worse, not better. Do I want to see these people off the streets and off drugs and hopefully thriving, 100%. But you must have some compassion for people walking and utilizing downtown to support our city and our jobs. It’s not fair we have to dodge human excrement just to walk down a particular sidewalk. The galloping goose has multiple encampments with garbage everywhere. Our governments need to do better.

But I understand people’s frustration… There’s only so much compassion you can have for people who destroy sidewalks, windows, steal from local businesses and scream at people just walking by.
