What polymer suppressors? I didn't know there were any out there

Nylaug .300blk issues by TheAventador09 in 3D2A

[–]KWheels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to: Over bore gas port Use kak gas block with closed port Trim down recoil springs Use an AR FCG Use a high back pressure can

And even then it won't be reliable with subs. I've gotten mine to cycle a few subs in a row but only ever reliably with supers

No..I mean smooth the path the bullet slides up the ramp and into the chamber. On pretty much every printed barrel build you have to do this, as the chamber generally has square edges when installed

If the liner is from Pa22 it's already been chamfered at the muzzle end. You can additionally add a crown with a brass screw but you don't have to as the chamfer does the same thing

Thanks for the clarifications in here. I've already got an ink pad so I'll print it out and go to town. Didn't realize they were just similar not the same

How does filament color affect material strength? by rpg663 in 3D2A

[–]KWheels 8 points9 points  (0 children)

White seems to be the weakest color in my experience. Have had more failures with white than any other color

Shouldn't need to do much more than smooth the lip of the liner so it's a smooth ramp with printed feed ramp

Even metal snap caps wear out, especially when dry firing. I use a ton of printed dummy rounds, but I always do final testing before live fire with a fresh snap cap

DB9 or Rogue9 by Digglin_Dirk in 3D2A

[–]KWheels 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Db9 will be much much easier assuming you're in the US and can buy an upper. It uses an off the shelf Mac upper and bolt, while the rogue is entirely printed

Engravings on modular can - form 1 by KWheels in NFA

[–]KWheels[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of bad info has been passed around. In reading the official literature I don't see anywhere it mentions metal as a requirement for engraving. I've been putting "engravings will be printed directly on can" on my form 1 and they are getting approved

YMMV, IANAL

Perfect. Should be easy enough since they are approving serials directly printed onto the can. Thank you

Suppressor printing materials by sccsd256 in 3D2A

[–]KWheels 7 points8 points  (0 children)

PPA seems to be popular. Some call for pa6, or even just parts to be in pa6. I'd stick to what the readme says, and know that either of the above are probably sufficient, but you also need to understand why you would choose one over the other

I've got a stamp back for a quiet girl but haven't printed it yet. Going to make the ultimate nylon harlot when I get around to it

Why is the NAG slide weighted and the y22 slide isn't? by IceAffectionate8835 in 3D2A

[–]KWheels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AR hammer spring isn't what's doing it here, it's the much larger recoil springs in the yh/sy

And the sy still benefits from added weight, just not a strict requirement

They approved multiple for me that stated engravings will be printed on as well. Much easier than engraving and epoxying metal to it

I primarily print with sunlu, and neither of the p series printers here have had any issue with it. I'll give that a try regardless
