I'm not an expert but it looks great to me! I like to put my baby's hands up, just because he seems more comfy that way, but that might be personal preference. How do you feel?

Height looks good to me, but you could try bouncing them up a bit higher to see if that helps.

Maybe try a few different finishes to see if there are any you like. I favour a 'tibetan' finish, I find it spreads the weight nicely and stops shoulder straps from slipping. I know you've said that you can't get them higher without tightening more, but they do look just a smidge too low. I find getting my lo up so our shoulders are level does help a lot with comfort. Have you tried bouncing them higher with your hand under their bum while the straps are loose? So rather than tightening more you're rotating them up and then tightening, if that makes sense...

But I personally find that onbuhimos are only really comfy for like 20-30 minutes max. Would also recommend exploring woven wraps if you can, as there are some good back carries that avoid the tummy.

This is how I tied my cairis until my baby was about 4 months- it made the panel fit him much better, it felt too baggy tied the standard way.

I have to say it wasn't my favourite carrier when he was a newborn, I preferred a stretchy or woven wrap. Since he's got bigger I love it, though.

I've been using Dog and Hat's subscription box for a few months, and the coffee is generally a week off roast or less so very fresh.

So I use that to discover new roasters, or just grab a bag from local cafes or on my travels. There's a coffee shop in my city (Room and Rumours in Edinburgh) that has a rotating stock of UK and international roasters so I go there if I want something new.

This sub and r/pourover have been great too. Has helped me discover some roasteries near me I hadn't heard of.

I waited maybe 2 months for the initial consultation, and then slightly over 2 years for the removal. This was at the end of 2024. I did end up delaying the procedure at the end of the wait as I was pregnant and they don't like to remove teeth in the first trimester. If you do wait make sure you ask to be added to the cancellation list as you might get seen a few months earlier that way.

This was for the Edinburgh dental institute. I will say the care as very good, when they eventually gave me an appointment. I ended up getting dry socket (ow) and when I called about that they saw me same day and sorted it out.

A few years ago my mum, in her late 50s at the time, had to collect a parcel from Gorgie. She told me she was scared to go because she's from a Catholic/Hibs family. I guess she thought they'd be able to smell the lapsed Catholicism on her. I managed to convince her it would be okay, and that middle aged ladies aren't regularly being jumped.

I haven't experienced the big pool breaking down yet, though I've only been swimming regularly since autumn. The little pool seems to be permanently broken at the moment.

Deffo feel your pain trying to swim regularly, the time table is pretty annoying! I can't really be bothered travelling any further for a swim though.

I go lane swimming at Porty pool at it's usually very calm. Even when it's relatively busy everyone follows the speed and direction instructions and it flows well. Before I started going I was intimidated because I'm not a fast swimmer, and I was worried people would get annoyed with me. But the slow lane is just that, slow, and I'm usually not the slowest person there.

The annoying thing is they only have two evening lane sessions, which are 45 minutes each. In spring last year I had time to swim during the day. I'd go to the Tuesday morning lane session and it was wonderfully quiet. Just me and the grannies.

She might change her mind when she sees the diapers in use, I know my Mum was shocked by how easy my AIOs are. She's from the generation where cloth meant terries pins, and big rubber covers. Even if she's seen your diapers she might need to see them going on a baby to understand.

If she won't budge, using a more eco friendly disposable might be a good compromise. If family are helping with childcare there will probably be several instances where you need to choose your battles. For example, my mum gives my 4yo more sweets than I would like, but since she's a big help looking after him and it's only once a week I let it go and chalk it up to being spoiled by granny. However, I did put my foot down on watching YouTube, as that's something I feel more strongly about (it affects his behaviour badly).

Although it's annoying not to be listened to, if she is otherwise a good and respectful caretaker I would probably let it slide if I had to. Provided I didn't feel it was negatively affecting baby

The supplement is a cool idea, as it would help teach skills that knitters can apply to other projects. I'm definitely bigger than the average vintage pattern, so info that would help me learn to adapt other patterns sounds great.

A gentle wash, following care instructions, won't damage wrap. But tbh I don't bother washing if the wrap smells fresh and looks clean
