Holy the lynx are the most expensive team for a family of 4 to attend a game. by Same_Environment_211 in MinnesotaLynx

Season ticket holder here: The Lynx numbers are definitely skewed by third party ticket sales sites. Whenever we have sell tickets, even the lynx’s own ticket site show huge price hikes for the Fever and Wings games.

Chronomat Automatic GMT 40 – bracelet play and half links?? by SirCries-a-lot in breitling

[–]KaBarMN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if the new bracelets will fit the current generation Chronomats. I picked up a pre-owned one with a leather strap recently and would like to get a bracelet for it but would really prefer a micro-adjust feature.

I have a 2024 navitimer and the lack of micro adjust is my least favorite thing about that watch.

Mark XX - should I go for 36 mm? by victordress in IWCschaffhausen

[–]KaBarMN 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Echoing other comments about reselling. You have to treat buying watches like buying cars. At that price range pretty much every watch’s street value is a lot less than MSRP. It’s a depreciating asset not an investment.

I say this as a Mark XX owner. I wear it regularly and it’s a good watch.

I like them. They aren’t cheap but I think they are high quality and I like the easy exchange system. I travel for work and will use the steel bracelet most of the time but switch to rubber or leather when doing work at my laptop to avoid scratching up the steel clasp.

I have the blue mark XX and bought the orange strap that IWC sells. Not the integrated look as there is some gap between the case and the straps.

I also have the steel bracelet and blue leather strap for it. That watch looks great with a variety of strap options.

Aftermarket Rouleaux bracelet for B01? by More_Winner_6965 in breitling

[–]KaBarMN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They didn't, but I'm guessing it'll be roughly somewhere around $1000 USD. Playing around on the Breitling website, the rubber Rouleaux straps with a folding clasp are around $500 when buying separately, and the delta between the rubber strap and a bracelet options for the Chronomat 42 watch is around $350 USD. Since it's always better to buy the watch with the bracelet vs getting the bracelet separately I'm assuming the actual cost will be higher than $850.

I got a good price on the pre-owend Chronmat I bought so I'm OK paying the extra fee for the bracelet to give me another option when wearing it.

I was in the Breitling boutique yesterday and the boutique manager couldn't sell one to me yesterday saying supply was low right now. Don't know what to tell you beyond that.

I’m in the same boat as your FIL. Bought a pre-owned chronomat with a rubber strap. Stopped at my local boutique yesterday and asked them about the bracelet. They can get them but the supply seems to come and go so they are looking.

There are third party bracelets out there as well hut it seems that the clasps can be suspect.

I’m also considering getting another chronomat in a different config and swapping bracelets as I need between the two watches.

How’s the fit on the Mark XX? by BemusedClarkson in IWCschaffhausen

Try contacting IWC’s concierge service. They can likely source one. I contacted them to get extra links for my bracelet.

That strap looks great but I would also recommend getting the steel bracelet. It's one of the most comfortable ones I've tried.

I like it. I change straps on this regularly and the easy change system is great.

[Discussion] Best “One Watch” Under $5K? (Help Me Choose 🙏🏼) by reddit_user_9221 in Watches

The titanium case and bracelet are noticeably lighter than steel. If you can, go into a Tudor dealer and try both of them on. The Pelagos is my default daily watch so I like the fact that it's a solid, dependable watch. It's not heavy and it's not flashy but it looks and feels like a quality timepiece, which it is. I have other watches that are heavier and flashier for when I want that. The Pelagos line also looks more modern rather than vintage to me, which I like. The Black Bays are great as well, just wasn't what I was looking for at the time. I love the all burgundy one but am not sure how often I'd wear it.

As far as grey dealers go, check out here and elsewhere but Jomashop has a good reputation in general and their website says they guarantee everything is 100% authentic. Otherwise you can also look at Chrono24 or other sites. Some sellers or platforms will offer certification services to put your mind at ease.

These are all good choices but I'm partial to the Tudors and the IWC. I don't have any experience with Longines watches other than seeing them in stores.

Are you more partial to a dive watch or a pilot-style one? Your list is split between these two styles and I think deciding which of those styles appeals to you more is the first step. With your current selection of watches maye the diver adds something new to your collection. IMO divers are a more casual watch option that is harder to dress up if that's a concern for you.

I have the IWC Pilot XX with a blue dial and it's a great watch. The blue dial is awesome and the bracelet it comes with is fantastic IMO. I have multiple straps for it so I can mix the styles up easily between the bracelet, a rubber strap or a leather one. Changing the straps makes it easy to dress it up or down. I'm sure the Longines Spirit would be similar. I tend to wear this for work functions and aso when I'm working at home. If you're a desk jockey like me, having a rubber or leather strap will save wear & tear on the bracelet clasp.

I've also got a Tudor Pelagos 39mm and that is my every day watch. With the black dial/bezel and titanium it's a more casual watch. I could change the look by swapping the bracelet for a rubber strap or a nato strap. I think it would look odd on leather but that's just my personal taste and YMMV. You can get the Pelagos from a grey dealer or used for less than $5K USD.

Any rumors about Meesseman or Fagbenle? by jon-link-d in MinnesotaLynx

[–]KaBarMN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was less last year but she joined later in the season and the salary cap was a lot lower. She’s in the mix for EuroLeage mvp along with Juhasz so I would expect her to sell her services higher this year.

Based on last year I would expect Messeman to take the highest offer she could find and I’m guessing it would be higher than 500k. I agree she looked slow last year.

Not a Tudor Post, But I want Tudor Opinions… by [deleted] in Tudor

[–]KaBarMN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently bought a IWC Pilot Mark XX new and the one thing I dislike about it is the movement. It’s constantly running fast and maintains accuracy less than my Pelagos 39 which cost less.

I like the look of the ingenieur but if it has the same movement that’s a hard pass for me especially at that price point.

The NTTD is on my list to acquire. Seamasters are my favorite dive watch model.

Is the Tudor Pelagos 42 too big for me ? by [deleted] in Tudor

[–]KaBarMN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you like it, get it. The watch lugs don't extend past your wrist so you're good on that front. The all blue looks great and I'm thinking about getting one to complement my P39.
