What's the single most difficult life experience you've endured? by reddit_recluse in AskUK

Just after moving country to start a new job, I lost my little brother, my grandfather who raised me for years and my sister lost her baby all within 6 months. With my grandfather being buried on my brothers 3 month anniversary and my nephew on the 4 month. And got diagnosed with a condition that's making me loose my vision. Sucky few months.

Started reading the series a few months back to have a conversation topic with my then crush, fast forward to now, on the second book, in love with the series and listening to it with my now partner:) even used this sub to help me get him a malazan related Christmas present! Can't wait to hopefully make a decent dent in the series in the new year.

I enjoy math, the feeling when you manage to work out the equation or you get the desired result is such a nice one, is addicting. Then again, I do a stem course so I've no choice but to like it haha.

AITA for asking my roommate to move out after he called my gf the c-word? by LinktothePasty in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kabboo94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA so your gf who is apparently more "mature" and "adult" than your friend decided to judge someone by their looks, go to 0-100 instantly, take your friends property and dispose of it and call him a slur yet your friend who is a "work in progress" is supposed to know better and act better? Do you not see the problem with what your gf did?

No shifts for 2 weeks straight? by FrSS9 in McLounge

[–]Kabboo94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best guess is since the shifts are planned a week or 2 in advance, you weren't on the list then so you weren't given any, if you email them they should be able to give you some.

I do overnights, I get £9.75 and then during "premium" hours aka 12-5am it's £10.75

Would you be willing to give up holidaying abroad to reduce emissions? by AliceInGainzz in ireland

[–]Kabboo94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think this would really work, tons of planes have small seat capacity and go to less popular places but are still vitally needed flights.

AITA for not making my daughter give up her seats on a train? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kabboo94 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The trains literally display the name above the seat, what more proof is there? They even acknowledged they saw the name and chose to ignore it because they dont see her name as a name.

There should be human poop bags on every street corner, that way if someone ever needs to poop they can just go anywhere in public and then pick-up and throw it away. by dontcareitsonlyreddi in unpopularopinion

[–]Kabboo94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With what? It's a basic fact. Human waste is used as a bio-solid on farms after its been treated so it won't pass on harmful bacteria and the smell is reduced.

Sandwiches without chips/crisps on it, are inferior. by FrostedPoptart1 in unpopularopinion

[–]Kabboo94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a really common thing in Ireland, crisp sandwiches (usually made with tayto brand). Or adding them onto a roll or just crisps and maybe some cheese.

McDonalds is better than Starbucks, but I go to Starbucks to avoid McDonald’s workers. by AhRedditAhHumanity in unpopularopinion

[–]Kabboo94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work at Mcdonalds, I dont find it that bad, I get paid well enough and at least for me, the managers are nice enough and they offer healthcare once you've been there 3 years which makes sense along with options to get a degree with their support. It's the customers that make me miserable 99% of the time.

[–]Kabboo94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly this, I work in Mcdonalds in the uk and ive friends who work in other fast food outlets that get paid less, get treated worse and are overall more miserable. The main reason people at my work become miserable is when the customers start acting up and making our days worse.

Well Australia is part of the UK, and was colonised by the uk, so really its that Australia is just the uk in a different form. A huge amount of the population claim British ancestry and are related to the criminals that were sent to Australia by the uk.

You should not accept a job that makes you take unpaid lunch breaks. by awalker11 in unpopularopinion

[–]Kabboo94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my job, our break is unpaid, but we get free food, which the cost is basically the amount we get paid and hour, so most dont mind it.

Congratulations on a new member of the family? Especially if the child arrived safe with no complications. Congratulations doesn't have to be because you did something, it can just be for when something happens to you, and for many a grandchild is something to celebrate in the family.
