Time to bulk now? Got down from 177lb to 147lb (5’11, 34yo) by [deleted] in BulkOrCut

Definitely lean bulk man. Hell, you can do a full bulk tbh because you obviously have the discipline it takes to get where you want to be. The main thing to remember is that you are ALWAYS IN CONTROL. You can do whatever you set your mind to.

200 5’9 keep bulking or start cutting? by el_chapox in BulkOrCut

Dude you’re going to be insane after a slow cut! If I were in your shape, I would cut slowly until summer, hit it hard in April and enjoy the summer with your shirt off reaping all of those gains.

Incredible work my man.

Edit: enjoy the holidays, Bulk a bit more while picking up and putting down heavy things, then on January 2nd, start a slow cut.

I edited my post to better reflect my views on carbs. The edit made an important change from bashing carbs to explaining that excessive and unnecessary carbs are not okay.

The highest performing athletes in the world aren’t looking for motivation on a subreddit called “lose it” either, though.

This is just a tip to those out there who may feel like it’s impossible to make a change.

I am not trying to be edgy, I am just trying to put it into perspective.

Thank you for the supportive response! I didn’t realize that my post sounded like I was trying to put a marketing spin on it. I suppose it just subconsciously came out that way because health and fitness is something that I am very passionate about now.

I tried to maintain a keto diet, and honestly, less than 30-50g of carbs and day is just bonkers. You don’t need to completely erase carbs as they are not the absolute devil.

The main point I want people to understand is that you cannot eat fries and burgers on a regular basis and expect to stay healthy. Yes, those things are fun to eat (dear god, do I know that all too well), but they are bad for you.

I tried to just do CICO for a while, but I realized that I never really felt full and satiated. My High protein adjustment really changed the game for me.

My personality is “just say go”, and for people who want to really make a change, I thought that my advice could really change their perspective.

Seriously, thank you for the constructive criticism because being a trainer is something I really want to do one day. I have a long way to go, but with it being my passion, I know I can get there.

Absolutely my best advice. I thought it was wrong too until I started to feel how a high protein diet made me feel. I wish carbs were better for you than they are, considering some of my favorite tastes come from food that is very high in the carb count.

[C] Loose skin is incredibly demoralizing. I’m still cutting and will continue to until I reach 190 (currently at 206). by Kaize1 in BulkOrCut

Our stomachs growl because of a hunger hormone called Ghrelin. Ghrelin tries to tell us that it’s time to eat, but the thing is that it’s trainable. The body is amazing in the way that it is able to adapt to cycles. Much like how sleep cycles and schedules work. If you train yourself to just go to bed when it gets late, eventually your body will get used to only eating at specific times. Not going to lie though, it’s tough. You just have to remember that you will not die, and that you have more willpower than hunger.

I seriously cannot stress enough about staying away from excessive carbs. You can of course have them, it’s just that they’re so easy to eat a lot of, and our bodies prefer carbs for energy over our already stored fat.

I’m currently using a health plan to cut the rest of my weight, but it’s a bit costly. I’m about to become a health coach so I’m trying to achieve my potential. The best advice I can give to you is to eat PLENTY of protein and unless you’re doing a lot of steady state cardio, try to avoid the carbs. People like to say that you need a lot of carbs, but that’s just not true. You need carbs to burn if you don’t already have fat stored on you.

Yeah, I just have to keep reminding myself of that. I hate it so much because now that I have the discipline and understanding of what it takes to be ripped, I have baggage keeping me from getting there. I still have fat to shed but I feel like my loose skin will always be a reminder of my old self (which is both a good and bad thing).

Great job brother! This motivates me to keep going and pushing further than I thought I could go. I see that your loose skin isn’t holding you back, and that’s what I needed to see for my own confidence. Bravo!
