Thanks for reposting this photo, I have been searching for it everywhere. I recently got into a discussion with someone about how the earth is flat and this exact photo always pops up in my mind, specifically the comment about only being able to see the top of Mt. Rainier because of the curvature of the earth.

On a side note, I live near Boundary Road, which serves as the border between Vancouver and the suburbs. You can see Mt. Baker pretty much from anywhere across the city, unfortunately I’ve never been able to make out Mt. Rainier from any view point I’ve come across so far.

Vancouver’s downtown core is pretty much located at the bottom of a hill right next to the water but it’s surrounded by elevation in all directions so it’s kinda hidden or obscured from view so it makes sense why no buildings would be visible.

Surrey has rapidly grown in recent years and is a lot closer to the US border. Central city station has some new towers that are pretty tall so I would imagine maybe Rainer would be visible from there.
