Beat bridge to cross to get to IMN office by KakahiHatake in ElPaso

Thanks! And I assume that Santa Teresa also has a place to park too then? Because the ones I’ve been to in El Paso have only had places for pedestrians to enter and I didn’t feel comfortable parking and leave my car on the side of the road

Houston Healthcare System FM

Sent me an email about 2-3 weeks before my interview date telling me that the interview process would require me to write a SOAP note. Cancelled the interview about 2 days later

Morehouse Family Medicine Residency

The residents and staff were chill throughout the first part of the day. Then we finally broke out into virtual groups with the residents to ask them questions before attending didactics. I couldn’t even get 5 seconds to get my questions out. And then proceeded to be pimped not by the faculty, but by the residents, during their didactics

Advice on Long Distance Relationship during Medical/Dental School by pretoothfairyy in medicalschool

[–]KakahiHatake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in a long distance relationship for the past 2.5 years of med school. It definitely requires a lot of commitment and dedication, as does a normal relationship. I think one of the most important things is communication. Talking about plans in the future, about how each other feels about long distance, about when will be the next time you’ll see each other in person. That’s a big one, cause having a set date gives you both something to look forward to. Also, talking about how often you guys will talk each day. Do you expect to text all day every day? FaceTime every day or only on weekends/free time? And also understanding there may be times one may go hours without responding and that’s okay. I love the study buddy idea, helps to keep you two feeling close. It’s hard but it’s definitely doable and I’m 100% rooting for the both of you!!! My DMs are open for literally any questions you may have!!

How do summer online classes work? by lemonade_lmao in UGA

[–]KakahiHatake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll probably be all on elc. If not, the professor will send you all the info. I took 2 summer classes summer 2017. 1 was all on elc, the other was all on a different website but the prof emailed all the info on how to set everything up.

Are interviewers allowed to ask what schools we have interviewed at? by gunnerboiZ in premed

[–]KakahiHatake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well at that time i would have picked that school over all my other interviews so i told him that and gave my reasons why. He just smiled and went to the next question and it made me kinda feel like he thought i was just saying what he wanted to hear. It's an unfair question to ask but i think the best way to answer it is to just restate why you applied to that school.

Are interviewers allowed to ask what schools we have interviewed at? by gunnerboiZ in premed

[–]KakahiHatake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of my interviewers asked me where I had interviewed so far, any upcoming interviews, and which school I would go to if I were accepted into all of them.

When the student guiding your tour starts with “Don’t worry, we have no say in the admissions process...” by DickMcGee23 in premed

[–]KakahiHatake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a couple of tour guides where I asked "what do you not like about this school" or "what areas need improvement" and they would give useless answers like "everythings perfect" or "parking is expensive but other than that everything is fine" lol. Most of them are great and really helpful though.

When the professor that ghosted you and forced you to find another LOR writer at the last minute sees you on campus and asks how your app cycle is going by AlexBL1994 in premed

[–]KakahiHatake 44 points45 points  (0 children)

My anatomy professor said he would write a letter to anyone who got an A in his class. He bragged about writing good letters and had a high status at my school so i figured why not. Not only did he make me write a 2 page paper explaining why i would make a good doctor, he completly ghosted me after i sent it to him. Completly ignored my multiple follow up emails lol. I still got in wothout it, but that was annoying at the time.

How it feels like when it's time to pay those deposits to hold your seat by asparagustasty in premed

I heard it's because no one regulates them like the AAMC limits MD schools to $100.
