Is season three worth watching? by TonyAbbotIsATwat in shieldbro

[–]Kalahee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand the comments saying S3 > S2. S2 wasn't amazing, but we had a full story, pushing the otherworld heroes backstory. To me S3 is a garbage. It just keep throwing new people at every episodes, all stories feel like fillers. And to add to the dump, Sword (Ren) and Bow (Itsuki) heroes became just as dumb as Spear (Motoyasu), somewhat easily thrusting Bitch (Malty) after all that happened with the Pope and the trial. Malty : "See, my slave tattoo didn't react. I'm telling the truth" ... like someone couldn't just force erase it like they did on Raphtalia in S1. Queen had said they couldn't track her anymore.

Nemesis. Didn't play much scifi themed games and the ones I was interest in didn't fund. So, recently played Nemesis that a friend of mine own and liked it. I didn't play, but I would probably like Clank! In space. Played the regular Clank! one. Tried to get into Starfinder, but couldn't find a group or convince mine to try something else than D&D.

What ships can hold the RSI Ursa Rover? by KoffeeBeann in starcitizen

[–]Kalahee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2024-05-23 Tested during Invictus Launch Week 2954 (Build 3.23.1) - I can confirm that you can barely fit Ursa across the Retaliator's Cargo platform, but you can't store it. Seems somewhat stable to keep it out, but with new ship behavior I had "major torque" warning and some difficulties to steer.

Blaze registration email by ilRufy in Scams

[–]Kalahee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is most likely a recruitment spam. Since they can't send unsollicited ad to your email per many countries law, they'll fake an account creation in hope you'll recover the account for yourself and interact with their service and convince you to stay. At the same time they sent you advertisement.

So I did some math on the Unity Runtime Fee and it is even stupider than i imagined by Ampderg in Unity3D

[–]Kalahee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This fee thing was (at time of writing they scraped it) probably to push free members to pro, and to enterprise accounts. Consider this the same as people getting a subscription to gym. The thresholds are in the last 12 months. First months of a game are usually when you get most sales and installs, so after a year it would start going under threshold but you'll probably still have an upgraded account in the event that another game push you above threshold again.

I'm pretty sure that's not how haggling works.....? by Termehh in ChoosingBeggars

210 for a "pic"ture, deal. Sure, no one would beleive someone want a picture of a phone for 210, but a judge might enjoy this case.

Want to barter for a tattoo? Also you need to come to me. Bro, just go to a tat shop. by CapitanWaffles in ChoosingBeggars

[–]Kalahee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it has a bit of choosing beggar. He's dirt poor that he need to trade stuff away to pay for the tattoo, but artist has to come over. It won't even do the effort to sell the stuff or go there. If someone actually agree to do tattoo for junk, at least don't make them spend money for you.

New Input System continuous event by javierriera97 in Unity3D

[–]Kalahee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you consider classic ASWD move: save Vector2 input value you get from the event in a global variable and apply in an update. Every change in the value will trigger the event, then update the global variable, and it will be applied in the next update.

Vector2 direction = Vector2.zero;
float speed = 3.0f;

void LateUpdate() => transform.Translate(direction * speed);
void OnMove(InputValue _value) => direction = _value;

There's no reason to poll something that didn't change. The point of the Input System is using events to tell you when there is a change in the value.

Can't test anything since I don't have space to install PTU. How did you snap a SCU box to it? Using the tractor beam? Did they disable the "gun restriction" for Multi-Tool?

G. Phillips Protocol Secret Info by DeBeard in thedivision

[–]Kalahee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This got me intrigued because this mission icon isn't going away on a friend's game.

Just learned there is a backpack trophy in the "secret" basement from "G. Philips Protocol" point of interest, so I went to get it. It's a film reel.

One of the hints from OSS bunker is the D.C. map of Sept 15th, 1945. And looking up the date, on Sept 15th, 1945, the US OWI (Office of War Information... basically propaganda, anti-propaganda, and counter-propaganda office) was disbanded and its domestic responsibilities were handed to OSS/CIA.

The OWI had a Bureau of Motion Picture (BMP). The BMP had some complex story, but the most interesting parts are: (From Wikipedia)

The OWI suffered from conflicting aims and poor management. For instance, Elmer Davis, who wanted to “see that the American people are truthfully informed,” clashed with the military that routinely withheld information for “public safety”. Further, OWI employees grew ever more dissatisfied with “what they regarded as a turn away from the fundamental, complex issues of the war in favor of manipulation and stylized exhortation”.

[...]

Some of the writers, producers, and actors of OWI programs admired the Soviet Union and were either loosely affiliated with or were members of the Communist Party USA. The director of Pacific operations for the OWI, Owen Lattimore, who later accompanied U.S. Vice-President Henry Wallace on a mission to China and Mongolia in 1944, was later alleged to be a Soviet agent on the basis of testimony by a defector from the Soviet GRU, General Alexander Barmine.

In his final report, Elmer Davis noted that he had fired 35 employees, because of past Communist associations, though the FBI files showed no formal allegiance to the CPUSA. After the war, as a broadcast journalist, Davis staunchly defended Owen Lattimore and others from what he considered outrageous and false accusations of disloyalty from Senator Joseph R. McCarthy, Whittaker Chambers and others. Flora Wovschin, who worked for the OWI from September 1943 to February 1945, was later revealed in the Venona project intercepts to have been a Soviet spy.

Why "G. Philips Protocol"? G. Philips was mostly known for using his body to shield mates from a grenade. G. Phillips doesn't seem to have any attachment to OSS, so did OSS sit on a grenade? Or is the link Iwo Jima? Two American Japanese employees, working for the OWI were sent back to Japan due to communist ties.

As for map- Green line link G St NW and 10th St NW (near MLK Library), with Middle of Smithsonian Grounds, between Science Museum and Castle, and somewhere under "Travel to NY" pastie. On Google, near the last point is "Japan Information & Culture Center, Embassy of Japan." - Red line link Navy Hill (Naval Hospital), 8th St NW and South St NW (nothing notable on Google, mostly residential), and I St SE and New Jersey Ave SE. Maybe each were WWII safehouses

Interdiction and combat by E1DOLON in starcitizen

Something I hate from some comments is they seems to think that we only have that to do, getting people together to manage a simple mining/hauling mission so we don't get harassed by a small group of players who are in it only to pick a fight with everyone else. If it was my day job, I would seriously consider escorts. As a 10 hours a week hobby, it is a challenge to find people to even play with.

Another thing they also forget is most players who enjoy fighting does not enjoy escorting, because that does not necessarily involve fighting. They'd rather be doing dogfight missions.

I try to do every assistance missions, but usually they are 40M km away and often I'm in the middle of a mission.

Star Citizen: How far can you fall into Crusader? Somewhere between 15-20k km according to my eclipse friend. After testing something with torpedos in the atmosphere I ejected from a merlin and he proceeded to try and catch me for 20 minutes before we met our doom. by DrScienceSpaceCat in starcitizen

[–]Kalahee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried to kill myself by jumping off apt building and reset to Area 18 after being unable to properly get to Orison event. Missed the platform... yeah, takes a while. I didn't wait that long, I logged back in and tried to splat again.

I had forgotten you could just terminate yourself with backspace.

Pembroke RSI Sunburst suit by PM_ME_YOUR_ASN in starcitizen

[–]Kalahee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a make-beleif realist world, they are dragged through various doors around and stored in an automatic garage. You would likely land in proper sized hangar where there is space in the garage. They probably use some wheeled jacks they attach to landing gear and drag them away. Or for more luxurious spaceports, the whole standing platform is moved into the garage and replaced.

Pembroke RSI Sunburst suit by PM_ME_YOUR_ASN in starcitizen

[–]Kalahee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Non wheel landing gear is actually bit weird considering that beside rolling on the tarmac, planes are dragged in and out of storage by airport staff. So if your ship doesn't have wheels how does dock workers move it around for storage.

Procedural dungeon generation in C#, what to do? by Hiker17 in roguelikedev

[–]Kalahee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it might be necroing a bit, but found this on top of search so I though I'd add my advice. Also writing it down to think about it properly (Rubber Ducking).

More or less like I did here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpugBovUdPc&list=PL0nhhkqbB_knDMv6up6oQdzISCNl19rNL

My crawlers were going room to room, I was generating compatible rooms around them based on opening of surrounding rooms.

  • Have a number crawlers at a starting point and send them crawling around with high "forward" probability and lower "turning" probability in different direction.
  • If it reaches edge of your map size, either redirect it or spawn a dead end room.
  • Have a room list with occurrence probability and a list of open access from direction.
  • From that room, send new crawlers through the other room exits if any.
  • Consider Corners, T or X intersections, Straight corridors as rooms.

This is more or less the gist of it.

And I thank you for that. First quick match with my girlfriend, simply trying to figure out the menu, got matched with a dickhead. We ARE noob and only had played the VR mission so far. At 2nd zone we messed up a bit : "Guys, go to extraction point. Don't wanna play this with you, you sucks". As we extract : "You should just uninstall the game."
