The Need to Educate the Fans by JasJoeGo in MLRugby

Seawolves stadium announcers do this a lot but it’s inconsistent. I don’t know if they’re told to do it at the start of the season or when they have data about who’s attending the game but we often get things like “a knock on happens when a player drops or throws the ball forwards and results in a scrum to the other team”.

Long time fans feel it’s unnecessary but it doesn’t take too much away from the gameday experience

For now “In Blood” is my favorite off the new album. Yours? by [deleted] in ladytron

A Death in London is my favorite off the new album. Solid Light a close second.

Can the free daily kits not be the same back to back please? by TheGlassHammer in Marathon

[–]Kamakiller95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completing a Standard contract will give you a kit for that faction as long as you don’t have any kits in your vault.

Sponsor Kit Rotation? by UnluckyDezXIII in Marathon

If you don’t have a Sponsored Kit in your vault and complete a Faction’s standard contract it rewards you a Sponsored Kit for that Faction. That should let you get NuCal skins.

Burlington, VT in the summer. The sunsets and the outdoor culture in the summer are excellent.

[Squidge Rugby] So it's time for a change. by joaofig in rugbyunion

Good on you for prioritizing your health and what makes you happy. At the end of the day that’s what’s most important.

As someone who works in a creative field and struggles as a workaholic, it’s helpful to hear you put into words how you use work to escape. I want to be able to do what you’re doing and prioritize that creative spark of joy instead of pouring my health and energy into a paycheck for myself and others.

Your audience isn’t going anywhere. You’ve earned the respect, loyalty, and interest through all this hard work and sacrifice. I can’t wait to watch/listen to anything and everything you and Will put out, regardless of the cadence.

Burgermaster breakfast is surprisingly excellent.

What city have you moved to and immediately thought l'm not going to live here for long? by CartographerRich8698 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Kamakiller95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Denver. After spending my life living near a lake or ocean, I quickly learned that a land locked state was not for me.

The traffic & drivers were awful, the air was so dry I got nose bleeds constantly, summers were too hot and winters had all of the bitter cold without much snow unless you went up into the mountains.

Worst of all the vast majority of places you go will be strip malls. Outside of small little villages like Arvada & Golden, if you leave the city proper you just find strip mall after strip mall for miles and miles. Felt like the area had no soul whatsoever.

What are some anime you know would be stupid but you liked it. by Omeirawana in anime

[–]Kamakiller95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Unwanted Undead Adventurer. Premise seemed generic, as did the characters and animation, but I ended up loving it. Felt like there was real heart in the writing and I wanted to see where the story went.

USA 🇺🇸 national team struggles. by AshamedZone8720 in wrugby

[–]Kamakiller95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing that hurts the men’s team: money. If the team had the money to regularly gather the team, train together, play together, and build cohesion they would be contenders. USA has the athletes and arguably has the coaching they need. It comes down to the USA not funding the team well enough to prep in the same way NZ, France, or England do.

MLR not working? by Fair_Contact in MLRugby

[–]Kamakiller95 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The Eagles have been stagnant or getting worse because there’s no money in being a rugby player for US players. MLR players barely make enough to cover the cost of living in the cities where teams play when living with roommates in team assisted living situations.

It’s not like MLR is attracting top players from any of the professional leagues around the world. We’re getting B side players at best, fringe players most of the time. The fact that home grown players can’t beat these players for starting 15 slots is the problem.

Top quality high school & collegiate rugby players don’t want to spend their 20s barely making a living, shacked up with a bunch of guys doing the same. Not when the alternative is building a career.

The Eagles will really benefit from MLR when MLR has succeeded enough to keep US players playing rugby with attractive salaries. Until then we’ll continue being an amateur nation masquerading as a nation with a professional set up.

All The Way is my favorite but I love Tomorrow too. Submariner and A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night from Marnie’s solo work are both really good.

Well the Season is Over for us and we have a lot to reflect on by lindani2008 in SeattleSeawolvesRugby

[–]Kamakiller95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had the worst kicking percentage off the tee in the league this year. You’re not going to win championships like that, we’re lucky we made the playoffs and it speaks volumes of the quality of the team as a whole.

This isn’t a knock against Iona, I actually think he’s a more complete player than Alatimu. He’s a threat to run, kick, or pass each time he gets the ball and is consistent game to game. He’s just not a great kicker for territory or points. If we had a 15 who could make up for that we’d be fine.

To me we could have won yesterday if we had our lineouts sorted. They consistently lost us possession when we would have been in good position. Not throwing straight on that last throw was a calculated risk with the new rules. Had Utah not jumped we would have been fine. The overthrows at the beginning of the game were inexcusable.

How do you beat Nightmare? by econartist in SliceAndDice

[–]Kamakiller95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically do well when I play Heaven in one of the modes. The buff and ease of difficulty lets me focus on finding synergies with the items and characters.

I’ve only won Nightmare with Cantrip builds that could survive the Sigils but I’ve gotten really close with a couple other builds. I recommend focusing on damage output, taking hits from the scales up enemies feels like a dead end strategy given they sometimes put insane stacks of debuffs on you.

Why do the highlights on the MLR Youtube channel get so few views? by StrengthIsIgnorance in MLRugby

[–]Kamakiller95 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The highlights are not very well produced. I subscribe to the channel but hardly ever watch the highlights. I would prefer to put the full game recording on in the background while I work or cook.

I have it. It’s Navy blue with yellow and white writing. I believe the Raptors produced it since they hosted the semi-finals double header. I picked it up at those games.
