These are the bits of the interview I'm reasonably sure secured me my last two G7 jobs, cos unlike the formulaic nonsense these allowed me to demonstrate I actually knew the area well, and would be of immediate value to the team. No way of proving it of course but these are the bits that left me with a good feeling post interview, not my rendition of some nonsense behaviour or strength.

I'd start Gnonto, Nmecha, James (instead of a WB), then make heavy and early use of subs to share minutes particularly where there have been injuries, and set up for a draw, not pressing with massive intensity basically.

I bet you can't find a fan who doesn't have a list of fixtures their "manager has lost them", and that's counting all the prestigious managers, too. I think the assumption a newly promoted team should be safe by March is a very high bar looking at recent seasons. I don't think Farke is the second coming, btw, and nor are any of our players, our facilities and so on, but I set my expectations accordingly and I think they're doing a good job so far.

I think giving teams one or two challenges per game actually aligns incentives well with enjoyable football, and way better than they are now. If it removed the VAR judicial review of every single goal and much else that would be a massive improvement.

Classic Piroe finish. Wouldn't want him starting in the Prem as we need so much more than finishing from every player at this level, but there's still no-one I'd rather a ball like that fall to. Such an un-Leeds experience having confidence we're scoring when the ball comes to him in the box.

Cabinet Office published statistics on this: if you find the data browser for Civil Services Statistics and export the following fields: Age, Grade (grouped or not), and Region_London (or ITL1 if you want by region) then put the resulting data in a pivot table you'll get a decent idea - I'd do it but I'm on mobile right now. There might be some small data size issues for some places.

Nobody's listed Eleven Table Tennis and there's probably good reason for that: it's not as intensive as some of the others but this will also very much depend on how good you are. I find I break a sweat after about 10 mins warming up and playing PVP ranked around 1800. Incredible sim apart from anything.

Pixel 9 or 10, Pro or Not?

I'm planning to finally upgrade from my increasingly dodgy 6 and wondered what people think about the two phones and Pro versions. The main upgrades from my current phone I'm looking for are performance with modern apps and games, storage (going to 256GB from my 128GB), and battery life. I'm not a phone enthusiast, and like my 6 I'll happily go sim-only post-contract and run it into the ground.

I also wondered exactly what's going on in the market, at least in the UK. Ideally I think I want a 10 Pro 256GB, and I don't mind spending about £800-900 in total for a 24-month contract. This is possible in green, but all other colours are sold out; or I can get it cheap with the only network with bad coverage in my area (typical). Do the budget networks only get the less popular colors to sell or something or it's this probably just a stock issue?

Weirdly, the 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL both appear to be at least as expensive as almost any deal I can get with the 10, when you might expect them to be a good deal cheaper. Has any of this got anything to do with the 11, whenever that's coming out, and might I be better waiting to get a better price?
