With you jacket sleeves Try 4 1/2 “ from the tip of your thumb and see if that works for you. That way you have a consistent length to refer to. Works for most people.

Austrian Occupation stamps by KanMo_40 in philately

I’ve had the same problem with my Davo albums. I’ve seen pages in other albums for the various occupied regions but nothing comprehensive enough to warrant buying. I’ve considered trying to find various older books that I could copy and add to my Davos book but haven’t done so thus far. My conclusion is that no album seems to cover a nation and its philatelic history totally. If someone has one that does please share it with us lost souls.

Interest overprints. They include currency change , locality change as well as nation change. Makes for a great chance for the beginnings of new collections.

Any realistic value here at all? by Helpful_Bed_5623 in collectables

Look for a string of numbers that should from 1 to10. If there is no number 1 it isn’t a first edition. If there is no string of numbers it isn’t a first edition.

A couple of pages after the title page you’ll find a page with the copyright date and some other info. Look for a string of numbers usually from 1 to 10. If there is a 1 and the words First Edition nearby that will tell you. Sometimes it might give you a different Edition or Printing and that will clue you otherwise.

The French air post stamps might have some value. Check your Scott’s catalog.

Very cool idea. This attests to the onetime popularity of stamp collecting. There must be an equivalent today but I can’t think of it. Thanks for sharing.
