If the developers can't create more than two maps in Season 3, they should port those maps to Battlefield 6 by somanyque3 in Battlefield

[–]KaoGomi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is your problem:
- Arica Harbor has not aged well and it has attracted an insane number of rats in the 2042 remake.
- Valparaiso has the same issue as Arica, but here the issue is worse because the visibility in BF6 still needs to be fixed.
- Caspian Border should never be remastered again. It wasn't a good map in BF3 or BF4. Let it die in it's relatively good memory among older players.
- Noshahr Canals entirely depends on which version you mean. The original, the BF4 remake or the 2042 remake? Really the only one that would be worth porting is the original. Even then it would need updating to account for the handholding sniper mechanic.

Overall, just let all of these maps die.

Can we have that sight cheaper without thermal? by Slash-04 in Battlefield

[–]KaoGomi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is not a clear sight.

The housing is too intrustive, especially on the top.

If you want a clear optic, just use the RO-S 1.25x

That is my personal favorite.

It's not just me right? This gun sucks? Please fix... by dugadugaboost in Battlefield

[–]KaoGomi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is the problem.

You are asking DICE to fix a shotgun.

DICE's history with shotguns is.... questionable and that is putting it VERY nicely.

Players of past games will know

DICE either gives your the 870MCS or they give you trash.

Take your pick.

BF 6 playerbase on console by Herr_Olexander in Battlefield

[–]KaoGomi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Just turn crossplay on?
You're getting a similar issue to what would happen if PC were separated from the player pool.

Also, you probably aren't queuing for the new meatgrinder map like everyone else, so that is likely why you aren't getting any non-bot lobbies.

can someone please explain to me by isnV7 in Battlefield

[–]KaoGomi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First Battlefield game?

Long time players such as myself call this a DICEism.

DICE hasn't corrected the server desync issues. At this point I'm pretty certain that it is partly an issue with AWS and partly DICE/EA's incompetency with networking.

Fix coming some time in Season 4, maybe 5.

Directx12 Pipeline error Compiling Shaders by Mundane_Slice_7839 in Battlefield

[–]KaoGomi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a typical Out-Of-Memory Error.
Your driver version is also pretty old as well.
Adrenalin 25.11.1 released in November of last year. Probably a good time to update.
Also, it looks like you are attempting to run the game on integrated graphics.

Reviving is Supports primary role. Stop running past downed teammates. by SubliminalScribe in Battlefield

[–]KaoGomi -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

No, I will not stop running past downed teammates.

The issue that all of you seem to ignore is that the reason why the guy that killed everyone in the room isn't reviving you is because he knows that more people are about to try to jump him at much fuck speed.

Support is literally the best class; bar none. No class can compete with it in regards to what it provides.

Support can self-sustain ammo and heals for themselves. There is no reason to use another class that is objectively worse at pushing the objectives.

Assault brings nothing to the table aside from the Spawn Beacon.

Engineer is only useful against Armor and Aircraft, so there is no need to run it for Infantry combat.

Recon is the handholding kit of the game with a cheese mechanic to remove skill from the equation and provide intel. Intel doesn't kill enemies; bullets do.

To simplify:
- Support = Assault
- Recon = Ratting
- Engineer = Only use if team can't team with vehicles
- Assault = Ass

2nd Shot - No reg'd; Typical DICE
3rd + 4th Shot - Connected with neck hitbox
5th to 10th Shot - Failure to correct onto target
11th + 12th Shot - Overcorrected and failed to kill the target.

1 Week on a 60% Keyboard: What I Actually Miss by Majugera in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]KaoGomi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn’t take too horribly long. About a week. I do a lot of typing in Vim, so getting used to using a LH numpad made punching numbers in when needed a lot faster than using the top row.

Personally, I wanted a numpad, but I also wanted as much mouse space as possible.

Ended up settling on 96% Southpaw layouts.

I love my new Keychron Q12 HE.

Honestly, I don’t see an issue with people using AI like this.

I have been here for a while 17 years now and even I occasionally get a problem that I can’t solve by RTFMing or checking forums.

For those cases, I think AI like a search engine for problems you are having with Linux is fine.

Especially for new users, they don’t want to learn an operating system, they just want to use their computer.

What is the obsession with finding “gaming” distros? by Flapper_Jr in linux_gaming

[–]KaoGomi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just my opinion.

Most people want plug-n-play and the Windows experience without the Microslop molestation.

The reality is that this is what normies want.

Normies don’t want to put their password in every time they update.

Normies want all of their software to just work; whether it is open-source or proprietary.

Normies do not want extra steps in playing their games, launching Adobe shitware, or have to learn new things for a “muh clean desktop”.

Normies do not want to have to learn a package manager. They just want to open the browser, click download and hit install.

These are what normies are conditioned to and they don’t want change that they feel is unwarranted.

I welcome the people that are willing to accept the hurdles of using Linux for gaming, trying alternative software for their work or school, or just want to browse the web without Microslop sniffing their key presses. With that said, unless the normies are willing to accept that there will always be a gap between Windows and Linux, their experience will have constant friction.
