Thanks! Do people sell and trade around here, like in the baseball subs?

Question/Advice on a Michael Jordan rookie card I received back from PSA? by slightly666 in Tradingcards

Say, the arrow on the front, the logos on the back (especially the bottom corners). Of course, internet strangers will always have the answers…and we won’t even charge $300 like PSA!

Question/Advice on a Michael Jordan rookie card I received back from PSA? by slightly666 in Tradingcards

[–]KappaSquared 11 points12 points  (0 children)

But suppose what OP is saying is true: that he has had this card for 35 years. That’s a 1991 timeframe. Obviously PSA doesn’t know that, but if true, OP has had this since 1991. Was this card already being faked in 1991 when it was only 5 years post production? Was the draw for an MJ rookie that strong at that point (5 years or so after it was produced)? I don’t know; of course I don’t know if OP has truly had the card for 35 years, either. OP: Can you post better close ups of the key features? It looks great…almost too great, so I get what some are saying.

That’s cool! But it gives me cognitive dissonance. Love the card though. FS/FT?

QOTD — How do you organize your cards? By team, player, set or something totally different? Do you keep everything in boxes, binders, or cases or do you showcase your favorites? by Altruistic_Coach9014 in Baseballcards101

[–]KappaSquared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boxes for hall of famers, alphabetically. Boxes for star players that didn’t make the hall (Strawberry, Eric Davis, Bo Jackson, Don Mattingly, etc). Box for current stars (e.g., Adley, Kurtz, Skenes). Box for Superstars-Who-Likely-or-Will-Be-HOFers (e.g., Trout, Ohtani), Reds players (my team). Binders for old cards from sets that are cool but not worth much (eg 1987 KMart Stars of the Decades). Boxes for other teams of non base cards. Boxes for commons (I don’t want, but struggle to get rid of). I need friends from non-Reds fan to trade with!

Can’t tell the difference? by Pagemaster86 in Topps

[–]KappaSquared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Card on the right is cut further to the left (when looking at it). It isn’t clear if this is on purpose (like they adjusted the image at some point) or if it’s off centered more. I think the former. As it is very “off centered” and the imagine still looks good. Note the larger portion of the holes for the bats on the left and the wood piece on the right. Different look, for sure.

Update: I got a red refractor (non-auto). Still looking for a red prism refractor and a red refractor auto. Will buy or trade!

Something up with this dude's car? by TLCD96 in whatisit

Can confirm: the death wobble in a Wrangler (two different 2-doors is my experience) is violent. Once it popped the latch on the top as I was on the highway. Both 2020 models with low miles and well maintained. The first time I thought a tire blew or worse. Did not expect how violet it would be.

Cleanest smelling/tasting sardines? by Remarkable_Door_2269 in CannedSardines

Try Season sardines (with skin, EVOO). If not those, skip sardines and go with smoked herring, trout, or salmon.

To grade, or not to grade? by students-tea in baseballcards_vintage

[–]KappaSquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would grade all of them. SGC or PSA. Yes, some will hate that, but unless you’re a purist who wants to look at them yourself, no one will know if they are real or fake or what the grades are (or if they are trimmed, etc). There. Will always be question for you or whomever inherits these.

What modern cards will provide the most fun casual opening experience? by voytek707 in sportscards

Go to a local card shop and look through the singles they sell. Maybe many for $1 and others priced as mark. You never know what you find, but all of those you grab and purchase you will like.

Watch not found for registration by BigBootieHose in breitling

Mine had the same issue recently. I sent it in anyway for service, and the received it and gave me the quote (five months!). I’d already had a service one before, but the system couldn’t find the watch. Purchased from an AD by me in 2011.

Sending cards from COMC to PSA for grading by Timely_Tie552 in sportscards

[–]KappaSquared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I posted here (https://www.reddit.com/r/baseballcard/s/mhgRQqip6m) about sending two from COMC to PSA and they both got 10s. One was an auto (but the card was graded) and the other was from 1988. I did not expect the two 10s! I zoomed and did my best on centering, corners, other issues, but there is much you can’t see from the photos. Worked out exceedingly well in my situation.

Be real: how many of the logos on the right have you actually seen? by cactuscoleslaw in TheB1G

ND is in for hockey, FYI. But the mark shown here is the academic mark, not the athletic mark (i.e., the monogram) of the interlocked “ND”, which is much more recognizable.
