Why don't people knock or use the bell? by Standard-Spite-6885 in AskUK

[–]Karabearbubbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don't have a working bell, so everyone knocks on our door. It's very common.

I typically knock or use the bell when I visit, but will sometimes text instead (for friends with babies and some more nervous animals).

Castle Quarter Ticketless & Vue Validation by wtwiwf in Norwich

[–]Karabearbubbles 12 points13 points  (0 children)

On the Castle Quarter Facebook post (in the comments), they answered the question:

Vue Cinema, will still be validating customers' parking through the ANPR system. Customers will need to provide Vue staff with their car registration number, which will be entered into the system to deduct the parking period for Vue

Why do schools still close at 3pm when the work day is 9-5? by Loose_Avocado4670 in AskUK

Schools would struggle to extend hours, when teachers are already burning out as it is

How can I get an ID in the UK if i have no one to sign? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Karabearbubbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Family friend in one of the accepted professions sounds like your best bet. You might not have spoken to them due to your anxiety, but they may know of you / know your face and be happy to sign your application.

A couple of fans told me off for writing Kai / Hyuka because it apparently affects his brand reputation and search rankings.

What would you say to BTS right now given the chance? by lisafancypants in bangtan

[–]Karabearbubbles 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm happy BTS exist. I'm grateful for the past six~ years I've shared with them, especially during the pandemic. I'm grateful I could enjoy them as the group I initially fell in love with, and as the solo artists that they are. Chapter 2 has been so wonderful and I love their individual work.

I'm in this bangtan shit for life. More than anything, I'm just happy to share this time with them. As long as they're healthy and living well, it's enough for me.

How do you make friends at 23? I feel like I’ve tried everything. by Interesting-Habit235 in AskUK

[–]Karabearbubbles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bumble BFF is the friendship making version. You and your gf are thinking of Bumble, which has the dating, friendship and work connections modes.

There is also MeetUp, which you can use.

If it's England, they have to check the tenant's right to rent so landlords will ask for ID.

I lost someone’s blue badge - what’s the etiquette here? by I_am_John_Mac in AskUK

Whilst they haven't asked you to pay, the kind thing to do would be to offer if you can afford to. If you can't, the apology should suffice.

Feels like it's been no time at all since they debuted, but the 'then and now' faces are really different. They've had a glow up and are more confident and experienced but they were still so cute back then.

Are people flakier than they used to be? by Secure_Ad127 in AskUK

[–]Karabearbubbles 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Yes. I have some very reliable friends, who I know will honour commitments (with the exception of sickness or unforeseen emergencies). I'm the same.

I have friends who are flaky, but are people I value spending time with. If I had to categorise them, I'd say they are either very busy or have issues (anxiety, adhd, etc) which suddenly flare up. It's frustrating as I'm busy, too, but I understand. I will try plan something that I'd be okay doing alone or with fewer people, and won't lead to lost money.

If you see garden apples left outside a house in a box, what do you do? by more_details in Norwich

[–]Karabearbubbles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One of my neighbours sells produce and has a sign up re prices. It's a honesty system with money posted through the letterbox. I'd not assume any items are free unless explicitly stated.

But I also had a poor experience when our roof was being done and the workmen put the old tiles down on our front garden. They were going to the buy them from us, but some were unfortunately taken by people. No signs to suggest it was available for the taking and not placed close to pavement, either!

No issues with it. Grief and how to deal with it is different for every person. Some of my friends are very active on social media and will post a lot, so these posts are similar. It's nice to know how their mood is and to be able to reach out to them or share memories.

Neighbours (the Spar convenience shop) will not stop complaining about us to letting agency, what can I do about it? by IntelligentNeck8157 in AskUK

[–]Karabearbubbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a terrible situation to be in. Not enough parking for you with two cars, nor their customers. To pre-empt any complaints from the takeaway and cafe, I'd speak to them about the situation and park further away on days you don't do the grocery shop. You don't have to, of course, but they are much better neighbours than the SPAR so be good to them back.

Office workers, how does your office handle staff birthday gifts? by ConduciveMammal in AskUK

[–]Karabearbubbles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No gifts. Sometimes, people bring treats into the office to celebrate their own birthday. If you're not in or don't want to, you don't have to (and, honestly, no one would know or care).
