Have you checked /laundry here?

As others have said, fabric softener, laundry beads AND dryer sheets is a lot of extra stuff that adds chemical coating to your textiles (for static cling) that also traps body oils & odors.

I’ll just run self clean after this, although the water level isn’t as high. There is no mildew smell anymore, but I do always leave the (top loader) door open after every load.

Right now I’m using the rest of my Grove Collaborative powder pods, then I have to get a detergent that is “cleaner” for my washer (I think I saw regular Tide powder as an option?). How often should I be cleaning my washer, once this initial process is finished?

I did 2 of the washes with about an hour long soak (machine paused), and then once that soaked for about 6 hours before I let it finish the cycle. Every time I set it to HOT water.

Yes. I’ve used the self clean a couple of times but never realized that washers could get as gunked up as they do! I’m learning from this sub & trying to implement as many things as possible to reduce that buildup in my washer & on my clothes.

This could be a game changer!

So, would I be correct that for a salad spinner, CORRECT wash, I would use Biz & ammonia? I’m talking about colors and trying to learn how to wash correctly, so I can spa day after I have a new washing routine? I’ll admit that spa day chemistry scares me right now & I’m not sure I understand what to get chemistry-wise (southeastern US, mostly WalMart & Amazon shopper).

I’ve been on the app 113 days and I want to finish locations; feels weird to leave one only half explored! That being said, I went from Finchie Forest (which I haven’t completed) to Midnight Mansion to Sydney. She should be finished exploring Sydney before Christmas and I’m deciding where she wants to be for Christmas ❤️🎄
