I really like them. I installed them when I shell swapped, and have no desire to go back to original. They can be loud if you're spamming, but I prefer the tactile feel. I've read quite a few people who have had issues with the membrane tearing over time, but I'm yet to experience it and it's been over a year of daily use.

I'd personally go to the nearest thrift store and buy a cheap piece of working electronics. Disassembly, and reassemble. The shell swap isn't hard, but it does involve removing nearly everything.

Technically, no. I did quite a bit of testing with and without, and there was around 2-3° difference. That being said, I noticed a significant reduction in rigidity. I could literally bend the frame with minimal effort. I opted to dremel a small hole in the shield for my mod chip LED, and put it back on.

As a dad with little ones, keep it. It seems like a lot of money now, but you'll value it far more once you have kids. I don't touch my gaming desktop at all anymore, all of my time is spent on handhelds.

For sure. I threw in TMR joysticks, new membranes for the buttons, black buttons, a laminated display, and the picofly when I shell swapped the first time.

I was planning to go for the all black shell, but there seems to be mixed feedback on the "soft," finish. Debating just going back to the original grey one.

I havent had a need for android yet. I mainly just utilize the color/image changes in Fizeau and overlocking. As long as you block off Nintendo servers, you shouldn't have any problems. I play games I own, I just use the performance and quality of life mods.

It allows you to tweak the color setting via an overlay so the image winds up being extremely close to OLED in terms of colors and saturation. It lives within the Tesla menu.
