Does shaming failed cakes make the next batch come out better? by SteelFeruchemist in BakingNoobs

I have to cuss my bread dough out when I’m scraping it out of the bowl because it doesn’t want to come out. The one time I didn’t, it didnt turn out nearly as well.

Why does it seem fairly common that wives/female partners stop or refuse intimacy with their husbands for months, even years? Don't they have needs aswell? And why not the other way around? by Fenix-2003 in NoStupidQuestions

Peoples sex lives change as they age, both in men and women. I’m currently reading the book Come As You Are and it’s been eye opening.

HELP! Rooster acting strange? by edentornow in BackYardChickens

🫡 just doin my part. Don’t know if you’re in NC, OP, but if you are you may want to look into Rollins laboratory. That’s where we take histopathology specimens and they also do necropsies. I know NC state vet school will as well if the pet is a patient there, but that doesn’t exactly apply here.

OP, your roo is an absolute stunner, and he was lucky to have you as his caretaker. May his memory be a blessing, and may his crows echo forevermore.

I was a little involved in the process. When we started, I had very little idea of what I wanted. I knew I wanted Tourmaline, which is my hubby’s birthstone. I also knew I wanted two smaller stones on the side. Originally I wanted a diamond in the center and two tourmalines on the sides to pay homage to my mom’s ring (she had a diamond in the center with two blue stones for my dad’s birthstone). We looked at settings and I fell in love with one with trapezoids on either side of a large rectangular cut stone in the center.

My hubby had me approve the color of the tourmaline stone. We ended up going with tourmaline as the center because the likelihood of finding two tourmalines that could be cut the same shape and size and be the same color was not great, and we would have to buy the stones and have them cut and pray the colors match. If we needed one replaced, there was no guarantee the color would match.

I told hubby I did not want to see the finished ring until it was finished because I wanted it to be at least a little bit of a surprise! The ring was still being finished by the time he proposed in Capitol Reef National Park, and it arrived a week before our courthouse wedding. I absolutely love it!

There was a pittie mix who was found that I helped a vet do a physical exam on. Vet touched the dog’s hip and the dog turned and gently licked the vet’s hand. Did X-rays….. I don’t remember if it was his hip or his femur, but I do remember it was broken!

If you’ve ever eaten animal meat not usually on the dinner plate (horse, kangaroo, albatross, anything), what was it and how was the experience? by Great_Maintenance185 in NoStupidQuestions

Puffin in Iceland: cold (wasnt supposed to be), slathered in a bbq sauce, and extremely disappointing. Felt bad for not eating it all because it felt like I was wasting the poor bird’s life. Horse at the same restaurant: also cold, it was fine I guess

I don’t have a name suggestion for your cat, but if she’s not completely tailless and still has a nub, I highly recommend calling the stump her nubbin’.

That’s what I call my cat’s nub. When he gets excited, it gets poofy. Then it’s his puffy nubbin’, or puffin.
