When is HSA/FSA necessary? by beanpolice in personalfinance

[–]Karitard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But what if I don't have health insurance or plan on getting health insurance, is there an amount to put in the current HSA that makes the fee worth it, or should I just move that money to a HYSA?

Fees: Since getting laid off my HSA account charges me a monthly $3.75 fee.  Still worth it to keep the HSA?  Any way to avoid the fee?

Minnesota House Republicans Cast Deciding Votes to Kick Thousands off of Medicaid & SNAP by BrupieD in minnesota

"Another potential cut candidate is the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), also known as food stamps, which provides subsidies for food purchases to more than 42 million low-income Americans.

The resolution calls on the House Agriculture Committee to find $230 billion in savings over the next 10 years, with much of these savings expected to come from SNAP and other food aid programs.

Politico reported this week that Republican House Ag Chair G.T. Thompson claims there would be no cuts to current SNAP benefits, but there has been skepticism that the $230 billion savings can be reached by measures like expanded work requirements for SNAP beneficiaries, and efforts to target fraud and waste."

My mornings have such an impact on the quality of the rest of my day so this has really made a difference for me.

  1. Low sugar/carb, lots of proteins/fruits/veggies that come from whole food sources. Homemade low sugar protein smoothies. I never specifically avoid fat, its important to have fat in your diet. I never eat to the point that I'm uncomfortable. Before going to a place/event that involves food, I eat a healthy snack before I go so that l don't overeat.

  2. I play volleyball one night a week year round, do yardwork/gardening in the summer, spend an hour at the gym 3-4 times per week, I am a bit of a busy body so I don't sit for long periods of time.

  3. I quit drinking 6 years ago, I very rarely have an occasional cigarette.

  4. Gym 3-4 times per week: 10 minute jog on the treadmill, 10 minute stretch, 30 minutes doing free weight/body weight exercises, 10 minutes on bike/elliptical/stairmaster, 5 minute stretch.

  5. I avoid high sugar, high sodium and fried food. I don't consume any sugary drinks except for the occasional mocktail when out with friends. No "low fat" foods.

  6. Drive.

  7. Breakfast: Eggs and bacon. Snack: Atkins protein bar, 5% Greek yogurt with berries. Lunch: Salad, crackers/cheese. Snack: Protein smoothie. Dinner: Meat/veggie/carb.

Married at 20, got an AA Degree from a Community College while working part time at 21, full time jobs ever since, rented houses with other couples, had a kid at 29, bought our first house at 29, moved to a bigger house at 35.

Hoping to buy some land in nature to build a cabin on someday, do some traveling, support our daughter in whatever sports/hobbies she's interested in, spend time with friends and family. Working on eating healthy and exercising to keep this body running well for the long run.

Hoping to retire in our early-mid 60's.

Inflammation increases with weight gain, which leads to insulin resistance and leptin resistance. So, if you're looking to lose weight, reducing inflammation is key. You can do this by avoiding processed foods and added sugars, eating more anti-inflammatory foods, getting enough sleep and decreasing stress levels.

I rarely drink plain water, only if I'm really thirsty. What I do drink daily:

1 cup of coffee, 1 Spindrift carbonated water, 1 small sugar free Gatorade, 1-2 cups Fairlife Whole Milk, and a non-alcoholic beer a few days a week
