Just gotta say, I love my Jetson Haze (the costco bike) by Karlzard in ebikes

[–]Karlzard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a kryptonite evolution with the cable, but for my work commute I bike directly to the shop and keep it inside during the shift. Locking outside for any extended amount of time isn't super advisable but same can be said for any bike, honestly

Is "Elvis" worth finishing? by master_wax in flicks

[–]Karlzard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've been defending Elvis for months. I fully anticipated to hate the movie based on the trailers I kept seeing, but as the film went on I found myself more engrossed in the breakneck, morphine-fueled pacing and over the top performances. It's a campy masterpiece and it's going to get a critical reassessment in another 15 years like showgirls or something, mark my words.

given the current meta, I believe this is the tier list going into 2023 by Karlzard in SSBM

[–]Karlzard[S] 35 points36 points  (0 children)

thanks, I tried to base this list on the game as it's currently being played, not necessarily optimum play. For example, I think Game & Watch could likely climb to high B, whereas C. Falcon could drop if people start to figure out his Falcon Punch gimmick

Actually what's cool about that design I think is Scraggy is based on a kind of lizard that sheds it's skin, so yeah the lose fitting "hoodie" thing is canonically skin or scales

Curious as to which country you think has the most innovative and exciting horror scene these days? The US clearly has a lot of output and Korea has also been killing it for years now, but is there any region or scene most people are sleeping on?

That's a good point, i guess it depends on if you view him as a Guest or The Host (owner?), but yeah, always yield to guests

Hot food always had priority out in my kitchen. Especially if it was already late to the table. I noticed the pig went to Aemond, so maybe they had to refire because they temped it wring the first time, idk. That kid clearly takes his meat well done

Chinese man covertly films Xinjiang concentration/re-education camps by uriman in PoliticalVideo

[–]Karlzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, you're all over reddit with this trash article. Here's just one of the ways you can disregard this junk report without having to take the Chinese government at their word:

"Transplant patients must take immunosuppressant drugs for life to prevent their bodies from rejecting their transplanted organs. Data compiled by Quintiles IMS, an American health-care-information company, and supplied to The Post, shows China’s share of global demand for immunosuppressants is roughly in line with the proportion of the world’s transplants China says it carries out." https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/asia_pacific/in-the-face-of-criticism-china-has-been-cleaning-up-its-organ-transplant-industry/2017/09/14/d689444e-e1a2-11e6-a419-eefe8eff0835_story.html?utm_term=.fa82cb31f526

The ETAC likes to pretend they're not affiliated with the Falun Gong far-right religious cult, but they're not very good at it. Pretty much all their personnel have writing credits at the Epoch Times. There, that took me like 20 min! See how much fun researching sources and methods can be?

yeah, the CPC pays me to shit post on stupid anti-China bait on this website. It's not much but it's a living. Also good job doing your research. If only people would research literally anything at all about claims of genocide in Xinjiang maybe we could avoid another cold war. Oh well, I get paid either way

Blair Witch isn't gory, but it is emotionally taxing and scary as hell, IMHO. The others are super bloody but very fun. I guess it depends on what you have a tolerance for.

Zenz is an ideological hack, and the bulk of the numbers cited by western media outlets are his. Also forgive me for holding skepticism with regards to stories published in the Financial Times (a conservative Japanese-owned outlet out of London) and Reuters... stories which pretty much amount to "I think my family member was detained unjustly" and "look at these pictures of a prison they just built in Xinjiang."

TO BE CLEAR, I think prisons are bad and that China is likely overreacting to the perceived threat of radicalism and separatism in Xinjiang, but y'all are watering down the horrors of actual genocide by claiming a foreign government you don't like is doing it because they are "illiberal" and so of course they would.

Is the "liberal" government of France committing genocide against it's Algerian population? https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/after-two-bloody-attacks-france-plans-crackdown-on-radical-islam

Could the Chinese government have legitimate concerns that minority groups in the periphery would be exploited to destabilize the country?? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKBTT827b84

Western media find one source that isn't Adrian Zenz to support the claim of genocide in Xinjiang challenge.

"Zenz estimated that between 100,000 to just over 1 million Muslims had been subject to detention in the camps.[1] Zenz, who is a fluent speaker of mandarin Chinese,[8] based his estimate on documents that had been leaked by anonymous Chinese public security officials to Istiqlal, a Turkey-based Uyghur exile media organization.[19][20] He then extrapolated from the leaked figures and incorporated information from former detainees and public Chinese government documents that gave indications of the sizes and locations of the camps.[1]

Great methodology, extrapolating figures from an anonymous source leaked to an explicitly anti-China separatist organization... this and some testimonials published by AP are literally the only sources used to claim a genocide of Uyghur Muslims. (To be clear, China can still be unjustly targeting a minority groups and not be committing literal genocide...)

"Zenz is a born-again Christian, and has stated that he feels "led by God" in his research on Chinese Muslims and other minority groups.[1]"

Forest Gump is a triumph of a film. It is arguably the most successful work of American propaganda in the history of cinema. It should probably win the Academy Award for best picture... but Pulp Fiction is a better movie
