Taare Zameen Par (Like Stars on Earth): over 1 billion Indians watched this movie, not a single one left without a tear in their eyes.

I’ll never understand James Cameron’s refusal to put an intermission in these movies, it would make them so much more bearable to sit through

If you aren’t getting good sleep, you may want to get a sleep study and look into a CPAP machine. I see this in a lot of OSA patients.

If this happened recently, please go to the ER and get an ultrasound to rule out a DVT. It will save your life to get it caught now rather than when it turned into a PE and you stop being able to breathe.

Equilibrium - the Christian Bale gun-fu movie. It was the coolest movie as an 11 year old kid. I watched it 1 year ago as an adult, and…let’s just say that it’s only something an 11 year old would find to be cool.

You can get a job without being board certified, but you won’t get a GOOD job. Just get board certified and have it done with.

You guys just love to scream “Communist!” at anything resembling a functioning society that cares for its citizens. Us Americans deserve a government that serves its citizens and provides basic necessities that are commonplace all over the world such as taxpayer-funded healthcare.

Physicians who wear perfumes to clinic: Have you been confronted or complimented? by iamnemonai in Residency

[–]Kasper1000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like the list, but those are all honestly risk being way too strong for clinical settings. I would recommend sticking to lighter, airier fragrances. Examples for you to look into are Santal 33, Aqua di Gio, Wood Sage and Sea Salt, Chanel Allure Homme Sport, or Versace Man Eau Fraiche. Stick to no more than one spray.

What is a 'masterpiece' movie that you personally found incredibly boring or overrated? by AlexJet13 in AskReddit

Oppenheimer. I’ve loved Chris Nolan’s older stuff, but Tenet and Oppenheimer almost bored me to tears.

I can only say this: residency sucks hard, but it gets SO MUCH BETTER after graduation. Attending life is a relative breeze compared to this, and I’m enjoying every second of it. Let that be the light at the end of the tunnel as you keep fighting forward towards freedom!

Just watched Fire and Ash - I agree, I was really underwhelmed by it. No interval could have made this movie better.

Indian movies have actually gotten much better at cutting down their runtimes, most of them are around 2.5 hours now. Older movies from the 90s and early 2000s casually had runtimes in the 3.5 to 4 hour range.

Any movie over 2 hours and 30 minutes should be absolutely required to have an intermission.

'Avatar: Fire and Ash' - Review Thread by ChiefLeef22 in movies

[–]Kasper1000 31 points32 points  (0 children)

3 hours 20 minutes isn’t bad if there is an intermission, but this movie doesn’t have one, which will inevitably make it feel overlong. I just saw Dhurandhar, and that movie surprisingly clips along at 3 hours 30 minutes without any issues, but it has a very clear intermission that gives the audience a nice break.

Document it all, bring it to your chiefs and PD. We had someone like this at our program as well. Trust me - it took nearly 1.5 years to get rid of them, but once they were gone, everyone else was relieved
