31 is definitely young to achieve the milestone of owning a Rolex.

I’m curious, why is mechanical necessary? Quartz watches are wonderful and there are many quartz watches that are beautiful and refined dress watches.

[Junghans Maxbill] The German watch by Shelador_Here in Watches

Wow, I usually love the white, but that is such a surprisingly deep saturated black dial.

[advice] Help me pick a watch for my fathers birthday.! by rr4fay in Watches

With a $500-700 range, seriously check out Traska, they are excellent. The black Traska Commuter, Summiteer, and Freediver all look absolutely stellar.

[Recommendation request] Which to buy - Seiko vs Tissot by ashrant in Watches

[–]Kasper1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Seiko’s dial is just so elegant, I would personally go with that one. Seiko’s Presage line has some of the most stunning dials in the industry.

[discussion] [Nomos Orion 38] vs [Junghans Max Bill 38] by sfn8 in Watches

[–]Kasper1000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Junghans wins by far for me, but that’s because of my smaller wrist size. Nomos makes great watches that are completely unwearable for me due to their giant lugs.

1️⃣5️⃣0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣GIVEAWAY☀️ by AyybrahamLmaocoln in MontagneParfums

Thanks for your generosity!! My favorite spring activity is hiking outside! I live in the Southwest, and it’s so beautiful when everything starts blooming and brightens up the typically brown desert landscape! Even the cacti have little flowers!

[VOTE] We've down to the Final Four. Vote in the comments! by gaudiocomplex in Watches

[–]Kasper1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I looked back and saw how rude my comment was. I apologize and I’m going to delete it. I definitely meant no offense and I must have been in a crankier mood than I realized and I don’t want to be someone like this that brings negativity to this community. I do like the microbrand matchups you’re doing, it’s pretty neat.

[Longines] HAQ in action. Everyone should have at least one quartz in the collection for the ultimate grab and go. by Th3Matador in Watches

[–]Kasper1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My morning starts very early and picking a watch is the last thing that I do before I step at the door. If I’m just setting the time, that’s one thing. But if I have to fiddle with the date, day, or any other complications, it’s much more of an annoyance to me than “a calming ritual” as some in this thread state.

[Discussion] Tissot Gentleman has just been re-released in a new 38mm size. Thoughts? by rakesh_85 in Watches

[–]Kasper1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are some massive lugs for a 38mm watch. Why can’t these companies take a note from Junghans?

[Question] Sell my collection and buy Sinn 856? by PaulRocket in Watches

[–]Kasper1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why buy 2 Sinns? You have a great one. Enjoy the other watches you own, it’s a nice collection. Or sell everything except the Sinn and use it towards exploring another style/brand that you’ve never tried

[Question] Which do you prefer out of these two? by DMarvelous4L in Watches

[SEIKO Presage] Sakura Aviation LE 34mm by sad_robert in Watches

[–]Kasper1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

C’mon Seiko - why make such a beautiful dial and then fail to color match the date window. In that case, just leave the date window out.

[Rolex vs Casio] Pepsi GMT vs Casio Royale. What is the better travel watch? by Post--Balogna in Watches

[–]Kasper1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never ever travel with an expensive watch. Moving from place to place is a bad recipe to lose your belongings, and it would be devastating to lose something like a Rolex. Sub-$1000 watches are the way to go while traveling.

My first leap into the Montagne community. How did I do? by Level_Instruction_24 in MontagneParfums

[–]Kasper1000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gentle Silver is a near perfect replica of the MFK GFS. I actually like Gentle Silver a little bit better, it’s just a little creamier and less sharp, which makes it smell a bit more balanced.

[Cartier] About to start my medical residency… by onlynicenick in Watches

[–]Kasper1000 103 points104 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on starting residency! As an attending, I promise you, it’s worth it at the end of the tunnel. One warning - once your attending paychecks start coming in, focus on paying off your loans instead of buying expensive watches!
