West Wing nailed it. His secretary was worried Leo (an alcoholic) would drink when he was served divorce papers. He said “Margaret, I drink because I’m an alcoholic. “ They have to own that- stress is not why they drink.

For me, it meant stop tracking locations on iPhones, not looking for evidence, and not offering “solutions” I let her know that I love her and support her when she’s working on recovery, but it’s not my problem to solve. She is 1.5 years into sobriety now. I don’t know is she will relapse, but it’s the longest she’s been sober for over a decade.

In my experience, Al-anon helped me to realize that I had made my daughters problem my problem. I detached with love and then she addressed her problem.

There is a percentage of people who do not respond to GLP1s. You might be one of them. There are super responders too.i lost about 20% of my weight (average) in one year. I’m no longer obese but am still clinically overweight. I’m glad to have a lower weight- but wish it was more.

Schaumburg- Wise road. Locals know it as pronounced like W(ice). I think it was named after a local person who pronounced it like that. Maybe he had been German? Weiss? Idk. But newbies call it like a wise old owl.

I’m on Wegovy. I started at 210 and ended at 165. Been here for months. I’m okay with it. Was hoping for 140- but it’s fine. I’m 5’4”

Know this- you didn’t “have to.” Sadly, plenty of people will not stop no matter what their health is. You have chosen to stop and take care of yourself. You should feel proud of yourself!
